Theo Epstein is a LEGEND. Broke the Red Sox curse AND the Cubs curse. Lock for Cooperstown.
As a Red Sox fan, I do feel bad for Terry Francona, but hopefully the Indians will be back.
Exactly. I actually couldn't figure out who to root for, but I was leaning slightly Indians. However, I'm happy for the Cubs and their fans to have that monkey off their back.Quote

As a Red Sox fan I feel the same, but they also couldn't BOTH win. You either had Francona doing both for the Sox and Cleveland or Epstein doing both for the Sox and the Cubs. Would have been fine with both, but admittedly the one we got is probably the cooler option. Basically, as a Red Sox fan, you couldn't go wrong either way.

Joe Buck is a dreadful announcer. He offers no real insight to the game. He is no fun. He has a deadpan delivery that is boring, distant and the same no matter if he is saying "its a hit" or "go shop at the mlb store".... pure yaaaawn
I miss AL Michaels, not that Fox will listen or even care what I think.
Joe Buck has been awful for decades, and no matter how many people despise him, he NEVER goes anywhere. It's remarkable how much hate is hurled his way, and yet he continues to pop up on sports broadcasts all over America.Quote

FB and Twitter were lit up from people telling him to STFU!

Could be a case of nepotism. His father, Jack, was a great broadcaster.

I dont recall hearing his Dad, but it may be case of I dont really pay much attention unless it really bad, and I mean bad to the point of detracting from the game. This guy is like a robot, he is the Ben Afflack of announcing. No emotion, no range, no engaging or respecting the viewers, matter of fact dead pan, boring and emotionless... combined with saying dumb things.
And yet, there he stays year after year, the golden nepotism ticket indeed.
It is like the network execs have never seen a great like Al Michaels or Vin Scully do this job and they do not know what is possible.
