Much of the great art and music that we have from centuries ago was made because some fat cat duke or earl paid for it. The Stones may love their fans, but they also understand how the world works.
That dress code somehow reminds me the Beacon concerts in 2006. Perhaps a video shooting is on their plans?

One has nothing to do with the other. I had tickets to the first vegas show, I'm not disappointed they didn't reschedule. Flight and hotel were booked months ago. Rescheduling means last minute bookings and the costs triple, so rescheduling is only good for locals anyway....
Not that this has anything to do with the Vegas show not being rescheduled, but presumably this show has been booked for a while so it's not like they're just going to up and cancel it to rebook the Vegas show. Either way, we don't know if this is the end. The damage from that cancellation has already been done; if they never come back to North America, c'est la vie. Glad I was fortunate enough to see them once, which is probably more than a lot of more financially challenged fans.
As far as I remember, there were some talks about this Boston gig since late August.
I remember gathering in the Beacon lobby before that show and in comes a group of blonde women dressed like they were runway models. Once they got settled I overheard one girl ask the other "Who are we here to see tonight?". They were escorted to the front row.

And that's one of the reasons why I think that "Shine a Light" is a shambolic apology for a Stones movie.

Someone needs to help me get into one of these. I would pull the recording out of it so folks could hear. Would only happen once. McCartney did one of these before Desert Trip and I got a call from Panama from it. I was over an hour away and Paul put it on his facebook page so just missed getting in.
Getting the gear in past draconian security and pulling off a recording is definitely doable.

This is interesting news... but it is nothing for me to happy or excited about. Actually I am the opposite of excited, I am very disappointed in them.
They cant be bothered to play any other dates closer to fans around the country besides a couple of West coast shows? They can not be bothered to play a make up show for the canceled Vegas show? They stated for a FACT that the 2nd Vegas show would be ""band’s last U.S. show of 2016"".... yet here they are playing several shows for 1%ers at private parties?

As for why they feel they have to do that? Well I guess a buck is a buck, or rather a million is a million and you never have too much money, but frankly if anyone has the luxury of not needing money it's the Stones...they must find a way to justify it somehow. Keeping future tickets "cheaper" ?

We’re not sure what the occasion is this time, but Kraft Group President Jonathan Kraft has summoned a few hundred business associates and friends to the Optum Field Lounge at Gillette Tuesday for dinner and a performance by the Rolling Stones. Yes, we’re told that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, and Charlie Watts are in town — the word is they’ve commandeered dozens of rooms at the Four Seasons Hotel — and they’re playing a private show for the Krafts and friends on Tuesday.
Come to think of it, didn’t Pats coach Bill Belichick name-check Jagger and the Rolling Stones during his remarkably chatty press conference on Friday? Maybe he had the band on the brain.
We’re told the invitation, which went out via FedEx a few weeks ago, was a small box containing a white rock with the printed words: “Gillette Stadium Tuesday Evening October 25, 2016. Very Special Live Performance by The Rolling Stones.”
We can only imagine what it would cost to hire the World’s Greatest Rock ’n’ Roll Band to play a private party, and our attempts to reach Jonathan Kraft Monday were unsuccessful.
(Needless to say, we weren’t invited to Tuesday’s shindig, which specifies “casual concert attire.”)
Though the Stones aren’t exactly young anymore — their combined age is 289 — the band performed at the recent megafest in Indio, Calif., known as Desert Trip, and the reviews were excellent.
In case you’re wondering, the Optum Field Lounge is located in the south end zone at Gillette Stadium, on field level, and covers 20,000 square feet that includes a terrace, HD screens, and bars. According to the Patriots website, it’s perfect for corporate functions, holiday parties, and mitzvahs. And, Tuesday, it sounds as if it’ll be the stage for the Rolling Stones.

Actually, saying that this is a "Boston" gig is incorrect -- the gig is in Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is 30 miles to the southwest.
By comparison, if you travel 30 miles southwest from London, you will find yourself in Camberley (31 miles to be exact), a town in Surrey. Thirty miles southwest from New York City lands you in New Jersey (hell, 4 miles from New York City [west northwest] finds you in Jersey City, New Jersey), or Connecticut to the northeast (4 miles west of Stamford).
There is no Rolling Stones Boston gig in 2016, private or otherwise.

Think with such a large venue it may be well worth stopping by - but only if you live close. You would think letting fans into the stadium would be great
public relations for the team and owner - but I wouldn't risk airfare and a hotel. Is the stadium have a roof or is it open?

I feel sorry for those who had tickets for the first Las Vegas show. It seems like this private gig is the reason why it didn't get rescheduled. It's a shame how easily they cancel a highly advertised show for 19,000 hard working people who invested time and money, just in order to play a tiny cooperate gig for a few hundred people who probably don't give a damn. Why didn't they just postpone the Foxboro thing instead? Why can't they be a bit more utilitarian?
I understand why they had to warm up before the Desert shows with a private event in Vegas, but this one is harder to explain. Why play to an empty stadium when they can play to a full? None of this makes sense to me, not even the money.
