SFTD, GGYYO!.
IORR.Short & Curlies. The lead guitar, very melodic. For years I thought it was Taylor.
And of course all his Chuck Berry interpretations.
Interesting! Whenever anyone on this board says Taylor plays over the rest of the band unsympathetically, I smile to myself and think of Short & Curlies.
A song full of pockets, in which he plays within.

Good choices but...Didn't Jimmy Page play the solo on One Hit To The Body?

Yes, he did.
However, if you've seen the video one might be led to believe Keith did, though

That SFTD solo from Miami in 1994 is probably my all time fave... because of the wrong notes!

I like his playing on SFTD on recent tours the best, right or wrong notes, I don´t care. Every note, right or wrong, comes from the heart and soul of the man, powerful and menacing, no one else could ever do it that way. Sympathy 2012-16 rules thanks to Keith.

You really like what he does on SFTD since 2012? To me, what he does lately is adequate at best, sometimes passable. When he's on it's not bad, judged on it's own merits. But when you compare it to how he played at, say - Tokyo Dome 1990, it's pretty sad.

He may play less than in 1990 but what he plays today is more meaningful. You might say today he is telling more using less words.[/quote
On a good night that is certainly true. But when he's "off" those solos are cringe-worthy. His solo on the Hyde Park Live version of SFTD is a pretty good minimalist one.

Yes I thought it might have been Jimmy Page. Although it does sound like the sort of thing that Keith might have played. It is a great solo.
Here's another potential thread idea - great Keith licks. I don't mean Keith riffs or intros, but classic licks he plays in the middle of songs, often off the cuff (usually in live versions). Examples include:
- all the great licks he plays during HTW on Love You Live
- the great licks he plays on Just My Imagination (the 81 versions)
- pretty much any lick or variation he plays in live versions on JJF
The list goes on

LOL, by that you are saying that dozens of the greatest Stones songs (like SFTD, GS, HTW, WH, UMT, Bitch, TD, Happy, Some Girls, Respectable, Slave, Hang Fire, She Was Hot and all the Berry covers) don't have great solos. Ha ha, that is too funny, coming from a Stones fan!

where did i say they don't have great solos? i said his rhythm playing is better and that's what i prefer, i don't have a favorite lead because i don't care about lead guitar.
you have to get over freaking out about any perceived slight on keith richards.

Does incoherent, random Chuck Berry riffs out of time and key count as a solo?
