Each And Every Day Of The Year

Do I miss her kiss at night time
Arms around me till the light time
Yes I do,yes I do, yes I do, yes I do
Each and ev'ry day of the year

I still see her on the corner
Do I park and still wait for her
Yes I do, yes I do, yes I do, yes I do
Each and ev'ry day of the year

Never get around any more
Don't know what my friends are for
No fun sitting all alone
When I cry cry cry on my own

Each and ev'ry day of the year
Now that she has gone forever
Do I wonder what my life's for
Yes I do, yes I do, yes I do, yes I do
Each and ev'ry day of the year

Not really a Stones track but a demo. However Jagger singing with Jimmy Page, John McLaughlin and Big Jim Sullivan. That's some line up but it's still of the weakest songs on Metamorphosis and instantly skipable.

Did anyone cover this? It has that theatrical bolero rhythm beloved of dramatic singers like Gene Pitney at the time and I think they were looking at the American charts.

First released by Bobby Jameson (aka Chris Lucey) on November 27, 1964 as the 'b' side to the Oldham-Richard song "All I Want Is My Baby" Decca F12032.
Bobby posted on this very website eight years ago:
“The way I got to England to cut “All I Want Is My Baby” was I received a letter from Andrew Oldham stating that if I should ever come to London he would be interested in working with me.”
He goes on to say:
“When I went into the studio in London I still had jet lag. I had only been there for a few days. I knew nothing about the song and had never heard it.The next part of this is where I went into the studio with Andrew and Mick and heard the song “All I Want Is My Baby” for the first time. Andrew was very excited about the guitar solo to the point where he thought the record would be a hit based solely on that solo, I did not agree, but went along with it. I had no idea that I was going to have to cut someone else's material when I got to England, that fact was dropped on me the day I heard the song. I did not like the song and found it difficult to sing, particularly with jet lag. We rehearsed the song for hours and I thought that's all it was, a rehearsal, but it ended up the record. I was told that we'd just make a tape so I could hear what I was doing but it was the final product. The ‘b’ side “Each and Every Day” went a lot better and I thought it should have been the ‘a’ side. I complained about the songs to Andrew and asked him to listen to some of my material but he refused and said he was not interested. I was caught in a situation I had little or no control over, I was 19 years old and in a foreign country.”

A horribly schmaltzy and insipid pop tune. I'm glad that apart from Jagger, the real Rolling Stones aren't on this embarrassment.

"Gonna find my way to heaven ..."

Agree!

Top Jagger singing!

(problem with Stones fans that many of them are narrow-minded and bigoted)

Who wrote the music/arrangement? Ennio Morricone?
Sounds like Mick singing on the soundtrack of a spaghetti-western. Klein/Oldham released it to make a fistful of Dollars in 1975... Very unusual song, but interesting if it´s new to your ears. But then again it´s soon forgotten. On my favorite Stones-songlist it would wind up at No. 473, although it is not THAT bad at all. There are worse Stones-songs. I like it better than Sweethearts Together or Always Suffering or Thief In The Night or Infamy or Shattered or Streets Of Love or Moonlight Mile or Out Of Control or Saint of Me or... or...
