Hairball
Just realized it is being aired live right now on the west coast and repeated later.
Tuned in to see Elton with someone butchering the vocals to Tiny Dancer - turns out it's Miley Cyrus?!!! Wow she's bad.
Nice of Elton to appear AND perform even though he could have/should have picked a better duet partner.
Too bad no Stones!!! Won't even get to see a taped thank you speech!
The prejudice by stones fans to popstars is laughable.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with Miley Cyrus.
She did good. Don’t like her music very much, but she’s in it for all the right reasons.
‘Butchering’....jesus...

Just watched it on YouTube. It's not a wreck. Sure, there's been better. But whatever. She wasn't terrible. And I don't like her!

I fail to see why Stones fans, whose average ages range from 45 to 70, should be expected to like today's flavor of the month pop singers

B&L was released in 2016, so why a Grammy for 2017?
What are the eligibility requirements?
For the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2016, and Sept. 30, 2017. Recordings must be commercially released in general distribution in the United States, i.e. sales by label to a branch or recognized independent distributor, via the internet or mail order/retail sales for a nationally marketed product. Recordings must be available for sale from any date within the eligibility period through at least the date of the current year’s voting deadline (final ballot).

That might be it. I'm 37. I hope I can still listen to music without blinders on when I'm 45 and don’t get stuck with Dweezil Zappa approved Dad Rock.
btw... I don't expect anyone to like. But you can not watch that performance and think she is butchering it.

Furthermore, when young completely different stylistic artists are added to classic rock songs *cough Memory Motel
the fans tend to say: WTF
Sorry I'm trying to comprehend this line. Is MM a reference to us Stones fans being turned off by this song when it came out??
BTW my wife is my kid when it comes to music, I Heart radio stuff. Not good for the most part but once in a blue moon I like a song, this week's being Best Friend by Sofi Tukker. LOL just remembered tomorrow's full moon is a blue moon

I think 35love was referring to when Dave Matthews guested on (and destroyed) Memory Motel.
There's a thread about it here > Dave Matthews/Stones

Ed Sheeran ("Ed the red headed kid") guested on 'Beast Of Burden' in Kansas City 2015.

Don't know why you feel the need to defend Miley Cyrus - I thought it was bad, you thought it was good - what's the big deal?
Based on prejudice? I saw what I saw and heard what I heard and ultimately didn't like it. I probably love things you don't, but I wouldn't pounce on you for having a differing opinion.

Nice deal. There was a similar deal around the time of it's release from Amazon UK that was a little bitless than that (apprx. £7.50), and I bought three copies giving one to my niece.
While it is a nice package/box, it's still just one cd and a mini booklet of photos.
As the description says:
"Deluxe edition including CD album, 75 page mini-book about the making of the album and band postcard prints".
I think the original asking price for this was around £25.00 (maybe even more?), but they must have had a really hard time selling them at that price.
Worth the £8.97 (or £7.50), but don't think it's worth any more than that.
