Hey guys. I too was in the fan film. Email me, my user name is my email address. Met you Bluzdude at the filming. Missed swiss though as I had already left. Let's see how many us we can get together. Looks like Baurhouse is a good place. I'll be wearing my Stiff Records t-shirt. Let me know. Hope to see you all.

hey Scotty

Actually I believe we did meet...albeit briefly?

I personally might recommend the rooftop bar at the Mandarin, which is not far, but I don't really care, as I am not even sure I'm going.

How long will you be around, Scotty?

I'm still thinking about having some sort of a get-together at my house.

How I miss Palm Springs! It was such a wonderful quiet friendy place out there in the desert. Now here in Las Vegas everything is go go go fast fast fast noise noise nose all the time and cash cash cash $$$ ...

Anyway I found a few great places to eat drink and relax. Rule number one outdoor fresh air, no casino room. Rule number two draft beer many selections. Rule number three great food.

My favorite is the outdoor section of "toms urban". It is in the New York New York right next to the fake Brooklyn Bridge, It is a very nice place with great food and many beers, even samplers. I will probably spend most of the week there when I don't work. It is five minutes fromthe T-Mobile arena.

Beerhouse is ok but it is mostly drinks, and I guess it will be crowded on show days, as it is right next to the T-mobile venue. It is three minutes from the T-Mobile arena.

California Pizza Kitchen is next to Beerhouse and the closest to the T-mobile arena, better if you want to eat, also outside dining. It is two minutes from the T-mobile arena.

Sportsbar and Grill is a rough but great place I found on the corner of Aria and the strip (Las Vegas Blvd). Lots of space outside, you can do a lot of people watching, and even if it is sports bar i.e. pub food, the fish'n'ships is really high standards, no junk cod but real stuff. It is ten minutes or so walking from the venue.

I pulled the trigger way too fast for my 10/22 tickets. Watching the prices drop, when I paid so much, is really sickening. I guess this is what happens when a show doesn't sell out. I've got to concentrate on the fact that I'll be seeing the Stones, as well as hanging with my best friend who is meeting me there. I live in NY. She lives in LA.

I was in Vegas for work a couple of weeks ago and found Diablo's Cantina. A Mexican place on the corner of Monte Carlo and the Strip.
And there's a Shake Shack by the corner of New York New York and the Strip. They have an outdoor area by The Park, a few minutes walk from T-Mobile Arena.

Yes! Scotty, how long are you going to be around for? Will you be in LV for both shows? If so, I'd at very least love to get together with you guys between shows---I don't have tkts and still am not sure I'm going to one or either of the shows. I'm waiting for a miracle, I think. Short of that I don't want to spend a boatload of dough and be in the nosebleeds--I generally want to be close enough to make eye contact at least a few times with the fellas, I know...I know...but that's how it is. smiling smiley

Even so, if you guys are around love to get together, hear about the shows--and, as said, maybe I'll have something at my house. Have a good-sized sized yard, hottub, not an opulent Vegas mansion by any means, but comfortable, ample-sized, and private enough for a party!

Any truth to the rumor that the Stones are staying at the Trump International?

So the Stones could be staying in the same hotel as Trump, as he will also be in town, for the last debate?

The Joker must be joking:

Candid questions get thoughful answers.

Yes, I know that row... So what.. The Stones played in 1989 in a Trump hotel in Atlantic City, and they had him in the same time banned to attend the show, according to rumours. Life of stars is complicated

I can't remember if they played a Hotel in 89 Atlantic city.
I know they did a PPV concert from Boardwalk hall Alantic city 89 it was used for conventions ,I don't beleive it was part of a Hotel and not sure if Trump owned it at that time. I did attend this show and I saw Trump in the venue.

Anyone have an idea of when the Stones will take the stage? Tix says show starts 8pm which tells me they won't go on until 9:30-10pm. Both desert shows and the club gig all started around 9:45

Thanks for correcting me.

True, according to this article, Trump was involved in the PPV deal, but nothing about him owning the hall...

However, the article says he was banned, and you saw him... Which is contradictory, but not immpossible...

Rolling Stones star Keith Richards once threatened to stab Donald Trump.

The band were unhappy that the billionaire was involved in a pay-per-view deal where a gig in 1989 would air on pay-per-view TV, it is claimed.

Stones tour producer Michael Cohl drew up a contract which barred Trump for promoting the concert in Atlantic City or even attending the show.

However, the tycoon arranged a press conference before they were due on stage.

Cohl said: “They call me back in to the dressing room, at which point Keith pulls out a knife and slams it on the table and says, ‘What the hell do I have you for?

9:30 West Coast time. Gonna leave here in about 45 min. Yes, I will be at both shows. But unfortunately gotta be back here in SoCal for a Friday morning meeting at work. So driving up this morning, driving back home Thursday then driving back to Vegas Friday for Saturdays show. Yikes!!! If we can't meet up tomorrow then this weekend. I am not computer literate so my email isn't linked to my phone. LOL. Send me an email, my user name is my email address, and I'll forward you my phone number so we can meet this weekend.

Scotty,
Irvine, CA

I'll check my email before I leave this morning. BTW. I'm the guy that said "She played this album for me." in the film.

Boardwalk Hall was connected to a Trump hotel, Donald was involved in the promotion of the show. I have a copy of Atlantic City magazine that I got there with them and him on the cover, which I will dig out if I can find it. I do recall that there was some sort of argument between them and him, maybe having to do with the Stones being pissed about him trying to get publicity out of the event, appearing at a press conference with them , something like that. I do not know if the Stones have ever done business with HRC.

Atlantic City Magazine December 1989 cover story:

"The Stones! How Trump snared the World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band."
(pic of Stones not DT)

Title of story: "Has Donald trump Got Rock in His Head."

Long story about how Trump put the show together and how it was going to point the way to an expansion of AC, mostly business oriented, not much about the Stones except how everyone had assumed they were dead and how they had reaffirmed their status as the WGRNRB with the tour.

Okay, this is what I have to say about the choices;

Street Fighting Man - Obviously a classic and warhorse, but a good one. There's still some spark when they play it.

Bitch - This song is hit and miss these days, sometimes it's a tedious ramshackle mess, but other times Keith and Charlie lock their groove together and the fury is unleashed.

Out of Control - It's always nice to see mr. Jagger deciding it's time to do some latter-day material, but there's so many other more interesting songs! We've heard this one enough already! What about Flip The Switch, or why not revive the groovy Don't Stop?

Paint It Black - No comments needed for this ultra-warhorse, will Miss You also turn up in the song vote if they don't play it every night for one year?
