We arrived for DT1 camping today. Tonight from a hill about 1/2 mile from stage, I was able to hear 4 Stones rehearsal songs before the amplification was dropped.

The 1st 4 were Dice, Mixed Emotions, a blues I had never heard, Wild Horses. Maybe the 3rd song is from the forthcoming covers album?

It would be funny if Bob played Just Your Fool in his set.

That would be such a classic Bob move! Maybe he'll do "Freebird" like he did in Berkeley this summer.

Given the Bands involved, is there a Cone-of-Silence Force Field to allow exclusive rights to the concert organizers? cool smiley Let's ask Snowden !

If you're on the fence about this one and are in the LA area and can still go;
Front pit GA tix for this weekend are on stubhub for $550! (I believe face value was $1599)
That is a great deal!

Pretty painful for me to see great prices and to be sitting here in Southern California, but I can't drop everything and get on the 10 Freeway heading out of town on a Friday for three nights in the desert. That's probably why the secondary market is so slow - no matter how big a fan you are, you can't just decide to go on the spur of the moment. If it were any decent size city, there would still be a strong demand for good seats.

On the other hand, if I were already there and were holding GA tickets, I would definitely think about upgrading. That's probably the only real market for scalpers at this point.

This IS THE LAST "Battle OF THE Bands" for our generations of music. My money is on the Stones....

The Stones will have the best music of the bunch probably but the visuals from Roger Waters will blow everything else out the door. Anyone who has been would more than likely agree.

Strongly considering upgrading to the Pit for weekend 2.

$575 is currently the lowest for a single- $689 w fees.
A good deal for certain, but I'm currently waiting to see if they continue to drop (also factoring in writing off 50-75% of existing).. Wondering how much this weekends performances will affect next weekends prices, I'm thinking not that much as most have decided and planned by now..

The Stones will be the same as always (give or take a tune or two) but will set the bar high.
Neil will have the best show musically, and yes Roger will be the ultimate closer.

A friend sent this to me from blogger Ian:

"The stage is dominated by the massive screen that Roger used in Mexico.
He has kindly allowed the other bands to use what I think is the largest screen anywhere in the world."

I had a feeling that would be the case as I just posted that here a day or so ago.

Desert Trip Weekend 1 Room Share Available.

Looks like I am in but trying to keep my cost on this as low as possible, so looking for someone to split the $150 a night cost on a room from Friday to Sunday, within walking distance of the Polo Fields.

You can't even find anything with a roof for under a thousand yet between this and the cheap tickets none of my friends are interested and this is the last stop before I become Craigslist's latest murder victim.

Me? Non-smoker, non-drinker and no drugs. You? Just be discrete.

There are supposed to be 2 queen beds. I know it has a coffee maker which is great because the biggest holdup for me was the thought of waiting in line at Starbucks for 3 hours. I am going to bring coffee so awesome you wouldn't believe it was off the clearance rack.

So, who wants to do this?

So, who

I can vouch for my friend Dan! If I wasn't set already w/room & transportation, I'd jump at this situation.
There's hardly anything available within a 50 mile radius, and if there is, the prices are outrageously inflated and overpriced (similar to Stones Vegas tix).
Nice hotel, walking distance, great coffee haha...an offer you shouldn't refuse!

I am on my way and the offer is nominally reopened though I am resigned to the fact this whole thing is ending up a lot different than originally envisioned.

Good lord - the temptation to upgrade is there!!! If it drops to $300 in the next couple hours I'll probably do it!
Otherwise I'll keep what I have and do an upgrade for next weekend - Pit are currently at $579 for that and are bound to keep dropping as demand is less than this weekend!
I'm predicting it will drop to $300 or less for next weekend!

Wow, place looks huge. Look how far the Grandstand is from the stage.
GA pit is the place to be for these shows.

100% agreed. I can't see how the event would be particularly enjoyable from snywhere but the GA pit. For those able to go at short notice, pit prices on stubhub are now very appealing. If I could get there and get the leave and accomodation, I'd be right over! (I'm in the UK).

That's what happens when you're favorite bands are in their '70's and their core fan base averages at about 50 years + and older.
With two bad knees, I'm thankful to have a chair! thumbs up

Just saw pit at $400 on Stubhub, i.e. 25% of face.

Oops, never mind - just saw your post from 2.5 days ago. Will be interesting to see how low they go.
