Yes, and Ronnie is totally on fire on Sway, Dead Flowers, Wild Horses and especially Sister Morphine from Sticky Fingers Live.
I figured that for this site, the topic would be Ron's solos with the Stones...but yeah - gotta give props to the Faces live album from 1973. That album made me a big Faces and Ron Wood fan, much the way Ya Ya's made me a Stones fan. That whole album is graced with very good playing by Wood. Some of his work there offers a good glimpse into how he would play on songs like the LYL version of YCAGWYW.

True - I've often wondered if his appearance of goofing around colors people's perception of how he plays. It seems like even when he's playing extremely well, a lot of people don't take him seriously. If he stood stone still with a look of grim concentration on his face, would people perceive his playing differently?

Where to get the soundboard? I only know a good audience recording
I have the same problem..........the differences between Taylor soloing and Keith were huge......with Wood the differences are more the same to me........

His solo on YCAGWYW from the LSTNT movie is one of my favorites, Mick should've given him more time to solo like in 1975, cause he was even better in 1981 imo.

I was just going to mention it but I see RJ beats me to it: "Id rather go blind" with Rod and the lads is stellar.
I love his playing on :Angel" on ( Ithink) it is n a Rod solo album.

Love the quick runs on I Got Lost When I Found You (from Now Look).
He elevates Crazy Mama with those jangly notes, just when you thought they had reached all the song's potential.
Latter day; solos on Don't Stop (studio, not live) are great!

I was having trouble remembering what more he solos on. There's not a lot of soloing on Stones songs it seems. I can think of about 10 that Keith does. Unless it's all just blended together. I know there's a bit of lead playing but solos, eh, not really the strong point of any album, with exception to STICKY FINGERS.

The 81 tour somehow doesn't get enough credit for sheer musiciaNSHIP. I think the Keith/Ron guitar duo ran about as hot as it ever did on that tour.
Ron's playing - taken on its own- was very good in '75 tour. But everyone else was off. In 78 they were excellent. I just think that by 81 they got even better. I will never forget standing in the Fox theatre, and seeing Keith a few feet away riffing on "let me Go", and I think it is the best I have ever seen him play.
