Forget about Bill.

Agreed, his guest appearance in 2012 only made Honky Tonk and IORR sound tired and dull. Darryl is just the kind of groovemaster they need right now.

Shhhhhh. HMS doesn't know what you're talking about.

Interesting that Brian was signing a contract in Whitley Bay in June 1962. Wonder what camee of it and where this turned up again?

Brian was the Stone Number One very early on and signed all contracts.

Interesting that they'd have a copy of a contract from 1962 on the go.

No ,not anymore ;

From 1954 to 1963, Norman presided over both the Crescendo and the Interlude, the premier Jazz clubs on the Strip. The Crescendo was upstairs and the Interlude was downstairs in the same building now part of the parking lot for the Playboy Building.
One night, at the Crescendo alone, there was Count Basie, the George Shearing Quintet, Mort Saul and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.
Lenny Bruce was "totally unknown" before he started working there, Norman says.
"It was very exciting," he adds. "Half the world's movie stars and political figures came to the Crescendo."
But rock 'n' roll was soon to end the jazz age on the Strip. The same year that the Crescendo closed, the Whisky A Go Go opened.

Going back to the roots, to their roots . . . to some of the numbers they played then . . . the visual and musical connection between 1962 (on the contract) and 2016 (on the picks) . . . seems obvious

They will play the setlist of 1962, incl. Kansas City and stuff.

If they were playing anything other than the usual set list, rehearsals would be longer than a week....

Regarding the contract: It apears to be a copy (although with a punch hole at
the top) on modern paper. Since it looks like a copy and also is laying about a table with no effort to protect. This could simply be a copy given to the band for one of many possible reasons.

Yeah, but in June 1962 there was no Rollin' Stones yet. That's what I meant.

In June 1962, Brian would not have been booking a club in Los Angeles. If that is Brian's signature, it's The Crescendo Club in Whitley Bay. A venue I never knew The Stones even played (and may never have done). The management signature would be Giogio Gomelsky. It looks like it could say that.

+ the fact that in the early days they were playing blues material (hint #1) in tiny clubs (hint #2).
