This is the last interruption,
I've bought LP's Rolling Stones from the data's they came out.
NR 1 & 2 only in mono, the rest till Let it Bleed , both mono & stereo.
NR 1, 18 different issues, only 3 with short "Tell Me".
All still in my collection.
Greets,
.

Nobody doubts that.

i doubt that nobody doubts that...there's always at least one.

"Got Live" LP in mono are the way to go, btw.
100% better than the horrendous stereo version (or the remix).

Only "Have You Seen..." exists in mono, I believe..

Nope. There is a dedicated US mono version. I own a version.

Serious question, what is so special about the mono editions, besides being collectors item?

A lot. A great amount of time, there are different elements appearing on the mono mixes, or levels and instruments mixed more forefront.

While most of the time, the mono/stereo differences on The Stones' studio recordings are subtle, on The Beatles' recordings they are sometimes containing entirely different performances.

The most obvious examples with The Stones, are "Stupid Girl" appearing without any reverb, "Yesterday's Papers" being longer, "The Lantern" containing more ringing bells, "2000 Light Years From Home" having more wild mellotron effects and "Sympathy For The Devil" has a different intro with other vocals.

And almost all of the time, a mono mix has more punch, which makes the entire recordings more heavy.

"Get Yer Ya Ya´s Out" was released in Mono in
Brazil, - Argentina and Mexico, -
though I can´t figure out why it was limited to South and Central America . . ?

North America released Mono-singles up till ´82 - due to the AM-radio . . .
- but I don´t think any tracks from GYYYO was single-released in the US - ?

Little Queenie/Love In Vain from Ya-Yas was released in some territories.
There was a UK pressing that was exported to Scandinavia and, judging by the XDR matrix number, it was mono.

Was aware of this release . . . but found out that my membership of stones.7 had expired, - writing my former post . . .
Thanks Deltics !

Yeah, - quoting my own post, - but, -
actually not certain if GYYYO was Mono-released in Mexico, -
Argentina and Brazil seems confirmed, - (I have the Argentinian release) -
and the Brazilian is LABELED Mono -
but the Mexican release has labels that indicates Mono, - but cover-info´s
that says "Estereo" . . . .
Can someone enlighten us - ?

Still very curious if the UK-single single for Scandinavia, -
"Little Queenie / Love In Vain" is Mono . . . ?

I don't have it but purely judging by the XDR matrix number I would say that it is probably mono. Stereo would have been ZXDR.
"Memo From Turner" was also released in mono.
To the best of my knowledge, the first UK Decca single to be released in stereo (by any artist) was the "Street Fighting Man" maxi-single issued in 1971: [www.45cat.com]

OK Deltics !
That was a very interesting info ! - and I have never heard of this !
Could you provide any more details . . . .
stones.7 only list four 7" releases, - all 1973, - from the L´age D´or-serie
France / Belgium . . . .
Are those Mono - ?
(Please excuse me for going OT ! )
