I guess it has been posted but it just occured to me that Havana Moon is possibly a nod to Chuck Berry's Havana Moon song : [www.youtube.com]

I can't imagine the Stones didn't think of Chuck Berry's song when picking this title for their album.

Mick Jagger (September 2016): Havana Moon

I thought (Havana Moon) was a kind of fun little reference. When we were looking for a title, that just popped into my head, although it’s a long time since I’ve heard that song. It’s really moody, and I thought it would work really well for a title. Everyone seemed to like it.

I don’t think we ever thought of playing (in Cuba), not until a couple of years ago, when it started to be mentioned by people, because the American restrictions were easing, bit by bit, you know? We probably could have played there ages ago, but it would have been quite difficult.

(It's n)ot really (the last frontier for the Stones). We’ve played one gig in Africa. That’s a big place. Like to go back. And maybe India as well.

Apologies for this stupid question: Will NTSC DVD video play in Europe?

All Stones DVD's in the past years (Ladies And Gentlemen, Some Girls Live in Texas, Sweet Summer Sun, Hampton 81, LA 75, Tokyo 90, Leeds 81, Marquee 71, Completely Stripped) were region free. No matter what they write in the description on amazon or jpc, or fnac or whatever.

BTW, you do not need to order form the USA. This DVD is already on pre-order via european amazon sites as well as from jpc.de or bol.com

I'm wondering about the CDs; will it be 14 tracks, or is it 18 tracks between the 2 CDs ? Can someone advise, please ? Cheers, Tom

Out of Control and Havana Moon

I tried to post this song on YouTube but was unsuccessful, but if you want to hear and see something fantastic, check it out on YouTube. The people in Cuba seem to really react positively to this song. Mick's delivery, in singing and playing the harmonica, is great. Keith and Ronnie interact well in their guitar playing, and Keith's solo in the middle is perfect. This should be played at every concert in the future. I believe someone else made a comment about Out of Control, and I agree with his/her assessment of the song.

Best track of the album.

IMO the only good track from the album. Maybe others are better live too though.

You mean the B2B-album?
OOC - imho - is one of the worst songs on B2B, not the worst (nothing gets as low as Saint Of Me & Always Suffering/Already Over Me) but one of the worst. Jagger is unbearable slick on this one.

But I have to admit that they turned it into something completely different on stage. Almost enjoyable, almost. Nevertheless there are dozens of latter-day-songs I would prefer to hear live, OOC should be shelved indeed.

Great indeed. I am delighted Mick has made this great song part of the live set from time to time. It is a great song ("Saint Of Me" should be in there too) It proves.... he should give other newer songs a chance too. He has a lot of great newer songs no matter what the "no good songs/albums since 1972 crowd" says. I like B2B and Voodoo lounge quite a bit! Bigger Bang too.

Ronnie's work on the Havannah is absolutely great and concentrated, as is Mick's singing and harp.
This could have become the best live version of Out of Control that they have ever performed, let alone the live one containing the trumpets.

It could have ...

... if Mr Keef hadn't produced such a sloppy, poor, faulty guitar playing from 05:25 on. What a shame. I feel sorry for the greatest 'r and 'r band in the world. This guitar part is unearthily bad.

How can such few notes destroy so much for you? I like his sound. That's what matters for me. He never tried to play a great solo on this track.

I watched this performance a little while back and thought it was the best live version of it I have ever head. It's really come into its own.
