Thx for this one it displays the strenghts and the flaws of Beck : he's an amazing guitarist BUT he can only write a good song once every decade. His new material is excruciating.

Respectfully disagree. I really like the new cd. He's not resting on his laurels & is trying new things. There's a good energy on the new record. He puts more in 1 solo than a lot of guitarists manage in a career. @ age 72 he hasn't lost anything. He & Neil Young are playing like in their prime. There aren't many of that generation you can say that about.

I caught up with Jeff at his book premiere, he's nothing like his image. He's playful and charming. I caught his show two nights later, it was great.

Have just listended to the album a couple of times. I like it!!!smiling smiley I like the sound of the album. Reminds me of something from the `90s but I don`t remember what. But it has something to do with the sound and the singer. Jeff Beck is a guitarist I don`t always understand, but this album is good and I like his guitarplaying a lot and I also like the voice of the singer....

The female singer on the new JB record sounds insipid. She has that youngish female affectation wherein she seemingly cannot pronounce the letter "T."

Jeff put on a stunning show at the zoo in Seattle to end the NA tour last night. Hw & the band were totally on. Amongst the many highlights: "The Ballad of Jed Clampett" (!!!), the only appeance of "Little Wing" on this tour & probably the best version of "A Day in the Life" I've heard. Hope a tape of this one pops up! smoking smiley

I'm stoked, just scored a seat front row dead center for Jeff Beck's concert in Paris on 24/10/2016 ! Was kicking myself for missing him a couple of years ago but I'm glad I waited because Hailer is definitely a welcome change in pace/style since the 1999 Mama "techno" rebirth. The Warfield show in 2001 with Jennifer Batten was great mind you ;-)

Beck is by far my favorite guitarist, one of a kind, can play anything with touch and feeling. Obviously the Stones connection doesn't hurt, the mystery of the 1975 Rotterdam sessions, the Jagger solo albums and the 2012 O2 "Going Down"...

I'm heading to Dime to get the torrents kindly linked by Mr.D.

Eventually, I may see the Loner live in Germany and can't wait for it. Last time I had tickets the show was cancelled only a few days before... Still I wonder why there was nothing like an official announcement for the - short - European leg of his 2016 Tour besides all the "events" on his FB-page: [www.facebook.com]

Yep, main thing is that fans found out!

He's playing the O2 apparently, can he really fill it or do they have different setups?

He's going to join Van Morrison within the context of London "BluesFest" so that shouldn't be an issue since the whole thing is only for three days and packed with legends we are familiar with on this board (Wyman, Mary J Blige, Temeperance Movement etc.). In Stuttgart, however, the venue's capacity is limited to about 1.500 and there are still plenty of tickets available (which of course will change rather sooner than later).

Caught Jeff in Paris last night, some wonderful playing as usual although he was a lot less "flashy" than in 2012 at the O2 ;-) Not sure what happened to Rosie Bones though since the concert in Basel on the 22nd...well we got an extra dose of the blues with Jimmy Hall instead.

Looking at my pics it seems he started just after 9PM and left the stage for good at 10.40PM. Now we didn't have Rosie so if she's back the show might be longer ? Anyone know what happened to her after Basel? Jimmy Hall was ok but I was looking forward to hearing some new material...

Here's Jeff's rack :
