B - when he was in Tunisia he was close to an Islamist party

Don't know wher you get that from, but I just saw the press conference of the French authorities stating the EXACT oposite - in fact: stating explicitely that he was NOT in any way linked to nor showed interest in Ismalism 'et al'. Not loccally, not nationaly, not internationaly.

For the moment, we can't say that the assassin is a Daech soldier but he sure shares the same madness !

What's more, we also know that some policemen in charge of the security yesterday made a big mistake. The Promenade des Anglais where people walk was closed to vehicles.
But the assassin lied to them by saying he had ice-creams to deliver and they unfortunately let him get through.

Terrible . Just terrible.
Spent last week there.

But we are told he had grenades and other weapons, he had to go through some channels to get these.

now we know that the assassin was Tunisian.

Well we all know unlike WWII there is no country we can attack to stop this shit, they are like roach bugs all over the world. But we know there is a command and control center in Syria. We need to just park some B-52's above Syria, bomb them to rubble, brings them to there knees to where they will call off their operatives around the world. The sane World has got to united to stop this murder of innocents you can't negotiate with these idiots...

I was flying over Nice tonight looking down at the lights on the coastline unaware that this was happening at the very moment when I was flying over.
I am now in my hotel in Rome watching the news with images of people carrying young children and babies running through the streets of Nice their faces filled with terror.

I will refrain from making any comments about what needs to be done to attempt to solve this problem of terrorism as it will just be deleted from here.

Thoughts are with people in Nice tonight.

I saw a concert there when i was in Paris a few weeks ago (mum's idea) but as a violin player i wasn't massively impressed with the quartet. The chapel is beautiful but you can visit it when there isn't a concert on.

If amazing beauty matters to you,
Sainte Chapelle and the wonderful Paris Opera House are beyond compare.

Also just standing in the Place Concorde, a historic and lovely space.

at least 80 dead people for the moment in Nice.
Seems to be an isolated act.

Against whom, exactly? An underground organization with international connections isn't the same as a country that you can formally declare war on. This isn't Churchill's world anymore.

Terrible tragedy in Nice, anyway. I have a friend living near there who I'm still waiting to hear from, hoping she didn't go into the city for the Bastille Day celebrations.
