That a majority of people that like the Stones already have all the mono albums! And for less than $300!

I'm speaking of DECCA MONO LP'S.
You can't have the original Mono Decca's LP's for less than $300.
OR...... You have bought them when they came out.
What's the price for a ROLLING STONES: first LP with: Short... ""Tell Me""?
What's the price for LP MONO LK 4786"" AFTERMATH with shadow cover?
Greets,

Greets,

Plenty of charity shops will be found selling the original DECCA L.P's for less than £10 actually.

For anyone interested the 2002 DSD remasters of the UK releases are still easily available on LPs if you don't want to buy the whole set. I saw several of them in a recordshop in Trondheim today

You can't buy original mono's compleet from Rolling Stones nr 1 up to Let It Bleed for $300.
I only speak about DECCA's Mono Red Label with LK nr's Issued in UK.

BTW, I visited a couple of FNAC stores in the aria and founs that DSD CDs were purged out. I mean, not a single jewel box with red-book remaster from 2002. Only UM remasters from 2009, RSR records but not DECCA-ABKCO era. It reminds me the situation in summer of 2002 when old ABKCO were removed from the shelves.

And how about the whole new generation of potential listeners that have emerged since the revival of the vinyl? Shouldn't they have the opportunity to buy the albums in pristine quality also? As already mentioned the albums are being released seperately next year, so one can wait if one doesn't have 300$.

Again funny how old fans always thinks that new products are aimed at them personally. Stop the ego-trip, please.

I am a long time fan, since 1977, and I don't have all their 60s albums in mono, so for me this is a great opportunity.

There is a video on YouTube from Analog Planet of the unboxing. He doesn't show the records,,only the sleeves, book and inner sleeve from LIB.

Oh, sorry about the repost. Guess there's no chance for open box DECCA labels then. Did I miss any sound quality reviews?

Other than lukpac's insight no. Analog planet promised a review but not yet. (Probably after release…haha)

For what it's worth I compared the 2002 remaster of 2000 Light Years to the 1989 singles and the mono(1989) sounded better IMHO!!

HI, Maindefender. I agree with you on the sound comparison. However if you ever heard the U.S. Mono LP version it has heavy bass and very punchy sound to my ears. Would love to have that without crackles and surface noise. Yeah, I also think the review will conveniently be after the release.

At least the momentary available iTunes-Preview of 'Little Red Rooster' , 'Mercy Mercy' , 'Under My Thumb' , 'She's A Rainbow' , 'Sympathy for the Devil' sounds like Mono via Headphones ....

Direct digital recording of the iTunes-Stream: [we.tl] .

Sorry if it was posted before.

"The record label ABKCO just released a 15 CD boxed set that collects 186 tracks recorded by The Rolling Stones, but in a format not heard for years: in the original mono. But why is mono better than stereo? Teri Landi, ABKCO's chief audio engineer shows Off-Ramp's John Rabe a side by side comparison."

Never mind that most of those 186 either were already mono or are just folded down from stereo in mono. About 40 are unique to the new set.

I'm happy that the mono's are back issued for the later fans.
I'm asking myself what the labels are?
Original: "DECCA'S RED LABEL" or something else?
I do know that there are a few mono's "LONDON" included.
How are the labels? That's my question.
I do have all the originals, but: a few are in not 100% conditions.
Greets,

Any ideas if the vinyl set will sell out and become collectible like the 1971-2005 ones? Not sure if it's worth the price this time.
