Yes, there are many tracks from the 60's featuring only Mick Jagger on vocals. Need to sort those out...

EXILE, I just found my Mick Birthday boxed promo. I don't believe there were too many of these in circulation, probably shouldn't have opened it. thanks Kowalski, for putting that list together. I can look for the missing pieces in my collection.
I know there are many who feel Keith's solo work is better than Mick's...I could never understand that perspective...and I take into account my own biased point if view...but still, there seems to be no comparison really. Mick is simply prolific!

Mick's and Dave Stewart's version of Memory Motel from the "Beyond the groove" soundtrack. Recorded in 1987, released in 1991.

All I could find about this is a movie named "Lapse of Memory" from 1992. The soundtrack seems to have Memory Motel on it but the Stones version...

Here it is:

Memo from Turner is a personal favourite.
Is it a 100% Mick creation or did Keith have any hand in it?
Or, dare I say, Ry Cooder?

Ruthless People is brilliant.

Holy crap you scare me sometimes. Like this - when you make sense.

But then you destroy that by saying things like:

Quote
HMS
So sorry that it did not became a Dirty-Work-song.

And then you cement them in misery by saying:

Quote
HMS
Would have made the album even better, although Winning Ugly is a great substitute.

That is so not cool it's a minus on the Richter scale. No serious Stones fan would utter such ignorance. You top that off by saying:

Quote
HMS
Just Another Night & Lonely At The Top could have been great Stones-songs, what a waste.

What you should've said was:

Quote
HMS
Thankfully they didn't go with Just Another Lonely Night and Lonely At The Top for being Stones songs.

But you didn't.

You did bring it back a tiny bit by saying:

Quote
HMS
Wandering Spirit is his best solo-work (no wonder, compared to his other oh so crappy solo-albums), yet it has its share of fillers and unpleasing moments.

Reality says there's ZERO to complain about with WANDERING SPIRIT considering his other 3 solo LPs, yet you, of all people, the one that thinks Winning Ugly and DIRTY WORK is just a wonderful piece of work, complain anyway.

So... this just proves that even Yoda can not see through it all.

There is no hope.

"You made the wrong motion
Drank the wrong potion
You lost the feeling
Not so appealing

Why do you think you got no friends
You drove them all around the bend

Oh yeah
You don't move me anymore

Now you wanna throw the dice
You already crapped out twice

Oh yeah, Oh yeah
You just don't move me anymore

One face so seamy
The other don't see me
It's better that you kill the light
You're giving us all a fright..."

To make Wandering Spirit a masterpiece (or almost a masterpiece) Mick should have dropped awful Out Of Focus, annoying Angel In My Heart and superfluous Handsome Molly. I´ve Been Lonly For So Long possibly too.

Just Another Night and Lonely At The Top are the main reasons to keep She´s The Boss instead of throwing it out of a driving car´s window somewhere in the wilderness. Horribly produced as both songs are they still have potential that shines through and in a Stones-setting without the tons of keyboards I guess those songs would work very well.

Doesn't Mick sing on "You're So Vain" as an uncredited backing singer?

Sir Michael's solo efforts aren't all bad. But they were certainly not worth the discord it created in the Rolling Stones. The band was, more or less, dissolved between 1983 and 1989 due to this.
And when they came back to much time had passed. Which is a pity.

All sounds like product, albeit some competently done.
I think if he had gone solo 10 years earlier -- let's say after Goat's Head Soup revealed the glory days were over and Keith wasn't in good form -- he might have put together a good career if he had found a good writing partner. But by the 80s he wasn't very inspired and the public wasn't going to accept him in a new role.

Thanks for this one. I knew he played harmonica on some early 90's band album but couldn't remember which one...

He also sang the title track on the Chieftains' The Long Black Veil. The Stones played on The Rocky Road to Dublin on that album.
