Remembering Brian - Official Stones Facebook

Offical Rolling Stones' facebook page post this video, naming it "Remembering Brian".

https://www.facebook.com/therollingstones/posts/10154502138708287

But when you go to YT, one read:

This video is already on YT but this copy is superior in quality which was taped on January 15,1967 when it first aired on America's "The Ed Sullivan Show" while Brian was never properly credited with the fine melody of the song later recorded in November & December 1966 then released as a single in January 1967. The instrument Brian was playing was of course the recorder in the flute family. Perhaps members of this once great band from the 60's should remove their rose-coloured glasses because he was the original founder/leader of the group who made them both famous & wealthy while their fictional negative comments only reflect both arrogance & ignorance since his tragic death.

Funny, isn't?

Thing is, not everyone is a fan of the 60's Brian-era. Many became followers post, say, Beggars Banquet. Plenty, I'm sure, were drawn-in by Some Girls, for instance. Recognition is one thing; forced fandom; quite another. This, by the way, is from a fan of the Brian Jones-era. Thanks, dad!

Died on the same day that my son was born. Sad, but I choose to focus on the positive...Brian sleeps with the angels now.

May the good Lord shine a light on you
Make every song you sing your favorite tune
May the good Lord shine a light on you
Warm like the evening sun

My thought is Brian would have shortly realized how
Drugs were affecting him and his career. Then straightened
Him self out. He was only 27 when he passed and with his
natural talent he probably would have continued with an
amazing career.

So did Brian die on the 2nd or 3rd of July? This death certificate states the 2nd but have seen the 3rd listed also?

One of the comments on the Facebook page says that Keith went out of his way to deny that Brian started the band. I've read a lot of interviews with KR in my time, but of course not all, and I haven't read Life. Did Keith actually say that somewhere?

Yes and there's probably a large number of baby angels with no Dad around or maintenance payments.
All the same, Jones' Stones is by far my favourite era of the band and his contribution was immense, not just as the guy who along with Ian Stewart put the band together but as someone who played great guitar and harmonica early on and then added the splashes of colour for Aftermath / Buttons / Majesties and to a lesser extent Beggars.
It really is about time ABKCO put something together (like a good well thought out version of The Beatles Anthologies) to celebrate the band's unreleased output from the Stones and Jones.

I read this last night, in perspective, I thought of all of the deaths of rockers, in the Who, Led Zeppelin, drug or alcohol related and then, the many others as well, Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin as well as many lesser known musicians and personalities. It seemed to come with the territory.

Seemed? Cobain, Winehouse, Prince, Shannon Hoon, Bradley Nowell, Michael Jackson.....and the hits just keep on coming.

Technically on the 2nd; he was dead BEFORE midnight like I think all sources say.

I highly doubt that - he was the classical example of a highly talented artist who was haunted by his own insecurity.
