That’s one of Randy’s songs. He wrote it but he didn’t have the chops to sing it. “Takin’ Care of Business”, and “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”, on that he’s OK. I added the flute part and changed a few notes around, but it’s Randy’s song. He just never could have sung it the way I did.
That sums Burton up nicely. "Me, me, me and, furthermore, Me!" I love most of the music but couldn't share an elevator with him without wanting to smack him. Pretentious asshat. A nightmare... [imho]

While not knowing the inner workings of The Guess Who, Burton has one of the Greatest if not The Greatest voice in rock and roll! IMO

STG - Did you see the interview with him (Burton) back in the early days of Canada's MuchMusic? After he had a recent relationship split? How do I say it politely - man was he vocal in that one.

Can't argue with you - I've seen them in concert several times. But he doesn't realize that sometimes the success is due to the group as a whole. And when he strapped on a guitar to line up with the other guitarists in No Time, grinning his rock star grin like he's the whole show, I kinda threw up in my mouth a bit.

His Facebook page is better than most, and he's something of an insomniac, so if you're up late, he'll probably be grateful to have someone to talk to.

No - but I can imagine. But I DO remember his brief foray into the movies. I believe it was called Melanie. The trailer showed him naked at the piano. And it flopped. The movie, I mean.
He was also a bit of a douche at SARS, pushing his way to the front of all the group shots, grinning beside Mick... Always pushing others aside. A distasteful man.[/
STG, my mistake, the interview was on "The New Music" - pre Canada's MuchMusic and pre JD Roberts heading south to become CNN's John Roberts (later CBS and Fox). Here it is for those interested:

Sorry Roller, I really didn't mean to poop on your thread. But you're right, what I've seen of him rubs me wrong. Glad to hear he has some nice qualities and yes, he's a great singer. And my mom wouldn't let me put posters up, but I secretly pined for John Denver, so now you have some real ammo to use against me.
I WILL shaddup now.
