Just watched it. Really love the way it worked up to the crescendo. Gave a good description of the era and why his generation wanted to break free. Rock and Roll was the answer. Great!

It was much better than I expected and even allowing for Keith's usual embellishments, he still managed to keep it within the realms of non fiction...we've heard most of this stuff before but there were some great tales which weren't included in Life and as a social history exercise it was great fun.

Shame it won't carry on for a few more episodes. I was particuarly pleased to see Hallsands (the place where he went on holiday with his parents) gets a mention as I will be having my holiday there again this year!

Mr Temple's Origin of the Species is possibly meant to tie
in a little and follow on after his 2012 doco ------- London The Modern Babylon ..................

Very true that, nice little snippets of social history.

Thanks to Mr. D, I'm very much looking forward to this!

It's a drag if you're denied because your IP isn't from the UK. Tried a proxy, too, but that, too, couldn't outwit the BBC iPlayer...

Thanks to Mr. D

Multi thanks! And to Keith and Julien Temple. What a beautiful film! and they sure fit a lot in, didn't they.
These backstories have always fascinated me, and to see them all lit up and illustrated like this is really splendid.
Thanks and praises!

BBC2 has it blocked in the US due to licensing or some such...
...sooner or later someone will youtube it I hope. and soon I hope.

I wonder if the youtube links of songs and interviews I sometimes share in posts open up in other countries because we're from everywhere here.

Loved it! Good use of music and indeed hard to see which pieces were old and which ones were done for the doc. They put a lot of love in this.

just so damn enjoyable!
jazzy!

i loved hearing more about life in post-war UK and what growing up there was like, and loved the talking head appearing through backgrounds -- this is a real delight

thank you for this, mr Keith Richards and mr Julien Temple: well done, boys!

Really enjoyed this. The narration bit at the start about "Keith, this is the world you are born into" was a little unnecessary I felt but other than that I thought it was great.
