It's not the loop, nor the arrangement per se, that bothers me. It's Mick's singing. It's flat without passion on this particular number these days, imo.

With the aggression and right amoung of arrogance back, the song is great.

SFTD has become a «break» for Mick and a «say hello to the audience»-number for Keith..

It's the most modern Stones-by-numbers on cruise control song there is. Since 1989!

That's Miss You.

I meant modern strictly in terms of... technology. It hasn't improved!

Enjoy the song or a specific Version of a song or not.
Enjoy music in general and do not Analyse Music too much.
Groove is something you feel (or not). You can´t HEAR it.
It´s got nothing to do if there is a drum loop or not.

It might be that this loop is annoying a lot of listeners, and distract them from feeling the groove?

If you listen careful then you will notice that a lot of the great groove on Sympathy was made of the famous Woh-Wooh. Nowadays the Wohwooh is only present at the very end of the song and during Keith solos. That makes the song sound "empty" at some times. I hope they will work on the song for the next tour.

What will happen if we agree on the fact that we can't forgive them for the SFTD loop? Will there be a trial or something? Do I have to call my lawyer?

No doubt there'll be a plea of Diminished Responsibility...

...with much mitigation from the defence council based on insufficient Whoo-Whoos from the audience, most of whom are now almost as old as the musicians.

I will forgive them, because I simply like the live versions from 1989 on.
The last live version I experienced was in Zürich 2014 and it was one of the highlights of a truly smoking show.
