The Rolling Stones European Tour 2017 might be delayed into the fall.
If they end up touring late fall then the tour might include indoor venues,
as compared to the high capacity outdoor locations originally rumoured for the summer tour.

If we are talking about an arena tour in the fall I can't see the numbers adding up. The only comparable US date in the last 3 years was Vegas last October. Most of the A blocks (which had been extended to row z to reach the half way line ) were only available as "VIP" or "premier" tickets for around $2500 - $4000 and even the lower tier right to the rear corners were over $1000.
I got lucky with the best tiered seats for $600 each as a reseller panicked when the 1st night was cancelled.
Unless the band are willing to take a major drop in income or they can find a financially suicidal promoter, I can't see it happening. Hope they are still capable for a Summer 2018 tour

well, they the the O2 in LOndon in 2012 as well as a lot of indoor venues in the USA in 2013 (see: [iorr.org]) and I don't think they lost money on those tours

Why the delay?
One of the band members not feeling well? Or not motivated to keep going?
Not judging, just curious. Not expecting them to tell us what's going on.
Hope they're able to go out on their own terms whatever happens.

oh, i should say this fall, just saw BV's post.

Yes exactly..that's the reason. A summer tour would have given me the opportunity to see them the way I like it. Fall means indoor shows. But it's ok for me. I already have tickets for 10 shows and festivals from end of may to end of july. I am fine.
A new album would be great but I am not willing to attend an event show for event hipsters who pay every price to be there. I resisted 2012, so I will in future. But I do respect feelings of other fans who will join. And I wish that every single one has a great time. I would buy a lucky dip. But not for a show far away from my home. Did 23 shows of ABB Tour. Remember Lausanne Plexi, where I got to know your wive and your lovely daughter Whitney. Or Werchter where Thomas LQ and me (not Steffi BTW) got a spare FOS chain for you (you landed Bruxelles at that time). Great times. Things which will never happen in a Opera seated show thing. Times are changing you know.

Yes I remember the ABB tour very fondly, saw 27 shows in 10 countries. Was it in Lausanne where I bought beers for all of the Treff people? And yes I remember being up front with the Treffians. That was the first time I got to meet you all (though I had met Iris before in Berlin 2006). As for Whitney, she had a girl in 2014 and a boy in December 2016. And our other daughter had a girl in 2013 and a boy in 2014. So we now have four grandchildren. Would very much like to go back to Europe but don't have the money at the moment.

There is not a single reason but more like a total of many reasons why they look into fall options. It is hard to keep a lot of options open until a short notice of 1-2 months. The European summer tour season is short, basically June and July. It is easier to book on short notice outside the high season.
I spent the summers of 2013, 2014 and 2015 on tour, I would not mind spending the 2nd summer in five years with my family. If you go to one show per tour then a summer tour is ok, but if you go to many then you sort of loose out on the best part of the year at home.

it might sound cynical but I think that's really great news. I really prefer indoor venues

Please do not make up any conspiracy theories. Half of the bandmembers are changing diapers, including "double diapers" Ronnie. Some times there is more to life than entertaining fans in a large venue.

As long as they are not 'attending' to their own diapers, I think we can be satisfied!

Keep in mind that weather in Norway is different than most of European Countries. There are some where May to early October, weather is really nice.

rumors started this week about the opening of the new beautiful Arena92 in Paris.(40,000 indoor setting)
Slated to open in September for Rugby, they are looking at a BIG concert show in the Fall to start it off.

Interesting option... and Mick loves to inaugurate new venues. Remember the Stones were the 1st rock band to play at the Stade de France back in 1998.

Certainly of more interest to them than playing Bercy, what could their motivation be for that after playing Cuba ? I think it's really going to come to a point where the "why bother" argument is going to be harder and harder to fend off, Charlie's lack of enthusiasm, Keith's inadequate playing veering dangerously into Chuck Berry territory (10 years "early"), the loss of Bobby, of Lisa, etc...If you add to that the problems with the direction of a new album and well...
