Irrelevant. Looks like they are changing plans so hping for MSG!!!! Whooo

They're changing their plans but only within EUROPE. That's the EUROPE they haven't played in nearly 3 years. They've done the US 17 times since then plus some club and private shows.

It's obviously in York.

grinning smiley. Excellent answer grinning smiley

And what a great idea to play York as in Olde original York in York, Yorkshire England. The band last played there on 26th February 1964, performing 2 shows the same day at the Rialto Theatre.

The good people of York are long overdue a return visit smiling bouncing smiley

I believe - pure speculation, that if the band can finish a record and release it, that anything is possible. Maybe a fall tour of Europe and then another tour 2018. Maybe the States? Could be a fantastic next two years if all stay healthy.

Thanks mpj200 - sounds a lot more promising and optimistic than one of your previous posts in the 'new album' thread':

"...any comparisons of previous years or album cycles is completely useless. We are nearing the end of the greatest rock band in history.
Prepare and enjoy every opportunity you can. Have hope. But now would also be a good times for fans to have a reality check and become realist".

Perhaps things have taken a turn for the better since then?

Everyday above ground is a positive day. I'm not pessimistic. Just a realist. They still have work to do. We'll see how the Spring goes. But recording has become more like putting together a puzzle. Rolling Stone confirming Mick and Keith got together, even if for only a week, is fantastic news.

Amen to that mpj200. thumbs up

Not sure if the thought of them returning to the States is being 'realist' - probably more idealist - but it is interesting to ponder the unknown.
First things first though - a new album, and hopefully a tour of Europe.

A new album of originals likely puts everything back on the table. Including the States. We shall see. Hopefully they will stay healthy and carve out time to finish this record. But it has a long ways to go.

THERE IS NO MSG!! CAN'T YOU GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD. THEY DESTROYED IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND WAS REDESIGNED FOR CORPORATIONS, NOT PEOPLE!! BARCLAYS IS THE ONLY NYC ARENA. PERIOD!
The Stone Roses played there just last summer!

I agree, ever since they renovated the Garden the magic has been lost. There used to be a sense of intimacy within arena with the interior walkways.
But I have to disagree about Barclays being the best arena in the Metro area.
Unless you are on the floor or the lower level the sound is terrible there.
My pick is the Rock in Newark for arena shows these days.
I realized this after seeing the Stones at Barclays, then a week later at the Rock. Nicer security personnel and it was easy to move around the arena.

The Stones have not booked the NEW MSG and I want their history there to end with the old arena design. I don't consider The Rock a NYC arena.

I have to LOL whenever I read one of these threads about MSG not being the same and thus bands should play Barclay's or another arena in bumfuck nowhere. While it is true that the Dolan's really ruined both the Garden and the Beacon in terms of the fan experience, HOWEVER, MSG remains the one and only arena in Manhattan and thus will always have enormous appeal to anyone that wants to play in New York City. The boroughs are suburbs that simply don't count....it's MSG or bust for a high profile gig.

Sure ! And why not ? What are you then ? Captain f***ing Sensible !?

It seems wholly appropriate to comment on the total absurdity of a thread that is sixty odd pages long, entitled THE ROLLING STONES TOUR IN EUROPE 2017 - and contains precisely bugger all other than an insipidly worded comment somewhere or other a few pages back informing us that we can stop day dreaming and ruminating ... cos' there ain't even a tour in any case !

This obviously doesn't strike you as absurd ? Yeah well ... whatever ? Have a nice day !

I'm taking leave of this thread for the time being, it's getting very silly.

I'll come back when we're up at 100 odd pages of complete and utter nonsense relating to the (O I forgot - NON-EXISTENT) 2017 Rolling Stones tour of Europe ... !!

Ain't it time this thread was deleted ? I mean really ....... ! Why not start a new one when (heaven forbid) the band actually HAS plans to play/tour again ? When (or IF) that ever happens ...
