I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurv this thread, 43 pages of absolutely nothing, zilch, nada ... except (a) unsubstantiated rumours, (b) meaningless gossip, (c) ridiculous suggestions, (d) dreamlike fantasies ...

Those three are the lifeblood of all good fan forums...what else is there to talk about? winking smiley

Father Ted, brilliant observation, following paulywaul's summary!

Then too, forty-three pages just shows how much we want more shows, huh. cool smiley

Don't think so. Just reposted mpj200's post.

Looks wonky though...

Don't know who Red Robin is. But it seems unlikely the band is arguing over tour personnel. This lot is like one huge family.

My friend at Universal just told me that the tour could be a handful of dates only, just like last year's fall shows.
Nothing will be confirmed until late March or early April.

Which compares somewhat unfavourably to Eric Clapton who has already scheduled 11 concerts this year (March/May/September).
And Eric's health in recent times has certainly been up and down.
And, he has said he is pulling back on touring.

All relative, I guess.

I see. Thanks for the insight ..

As well .. as was asked.. whats the story on the new studio album .. Have they worked on it a lot? 'Are' they still working on it .. and when do they plan on releasing it?

I think there are many problems with new songs...

Sounds like max. 6 shows in 6 weeks, if they do only one show per week - therefore the Tour could take place e.g. from 10-Jun-2017 to 16-Jul-2017.

Why are we getting so wound up about this ?

In my view, everything we've had from the band over the last 10 years or so has been a bonus.

We've had some great shows and now we've had the unexpected and excellent B&L album.

Why can't we just be thankful for what we've had, wish them well with whatever they do collectively or individually in the future...

...and quietly hope for a little more.

1/ Yes for B&L, great album
2/ NO for the shows at the end of 2016. IMO Coachella shows were very disappointing (Keith).

I think that we all genuinely feel the same, it is just that in the last 2 years they have played the US and no dates in Europe, so the logical conclusion was / is, that there will be a European tour this Summer, plus I don't think it is just us speculating, there surely were / are serious negotiations about European dates. But yea, as others pointed out, there has been no tour announced, the last couple of years has been a great ride and a great bonus and if we get some more, great! If not, it still has been great!

I agree Coachella was, but Vegas certainly was not a disappointment for Keith. He kicked a great deal of ass playing wise and we got the bonus of three songs from him. Shame, shame, shame that for whatever reasons, they didn't have more shows to get on track.

I agree about Vegas . Keith had a great night.

The trouble with a very short "tour" is that the Stones used to take 5 or 6 shows just to settle in and tighten up .

I can tell you the opener in San Diego Zipcode 2015 was VERY pleasant.
The opener for South America OLE OLE OLE 2016 Santiago was excellent,
was able to see 90% of it live thru periscope.
I think the first opening show fresh off rehearsals is high energy w/ a few songs not to be heard again later...
If I had a choice, first show of tour opener.

Does it really matter anymore? Haven't they done enough? What's the point?

Re: The Rolling Stones Tour in Europe 2017

Yes, they have done enough .

But they they still do it well enough to leave us wanting a bit more.

Thing is... I don't think they owe anybody anything at this stage and some folks remain a little too demanding of them.

I disagree about them not owing anything. If they chose to continue then they should give quality product like concerts and albums. But I can agree that if they chose to stop then they've done enough, they've given a lot through the years, but so have we. Another thought is maybe they like doing it and want to continue? They need us too.

I agree they don't owe anybody anything but as long as they put out things of the quality of B&L or the Fonda SF live show...they should carry on as long as they want to.

There is no way one musician can make a Rolling Stones-show disappointing for the people watching it. That certainly didn't happen, according to even the most critical posters here who actually attended the shows.

Seems like a lot of folks attend shows these days jsut to count Keith's bum notes.

He played plenty in the 70s & 80's... but they obviously weren't then old enough to count. winking smiley

Trabendo and O2 v1 were still rather enjoyable shows ;-)

But yes, are they going to rehearse for a couple of weeks for just 5 or 6 shows? At the end of last year they had the cash and lack of self logistics from "Desert Trip" to look forward to (and not been off the road for that long) but this year ? Dunno, it doesn't seem their heart is in it...

...like it wasn't into producing a new album 1+ year ago. At least they tried but when you see the (working) titles of the song, it's hard not to see another "album of absolutely no importance whatsoever" in the making to quote a regular here ;-)

Agree, and I enjoy 'Havana Moon' audio, you can *feel* the Cuba energy,
and say what you will about guitar playing different,
but Havana Moon 'Gimme Shelter' has one of the sexiest beginnings, ever, and
it's fresh (Sasha)
'OLE' documentary,
it has been top shelf output.

Well. I think Dave is a really great musician and political. And I think DMB should open the Euro17 tour. :-)
