The rumour around (from good source) is a 8-10 date European tour, mostly festivals with 1 SHOW per country, Knebworth being the last one.
They received multiple offers, from about 15 European countries, but not more than 10 dates are being considered.

...There are bids for 2017 from Serbia, Croatia, Poland, Spain (Barcelona), Austria, Norway, and a few more places I am told. It will be a great tour. They just need to finish their next studio album first.

Any festival names or countries mentioned?
There aren't that many big festivals around Europe other than the ones they've played before and I'm guessing they'd rather play the ones they haven't played.

Why are 8-10 dates being rumoured?
Isn't it more likely to be around 15?

And Georgelicks states no album until the Fall because better sales in the Fall. But BV states "they just need to finish their studio album first". Maybe it's finished for the tour, several songs get played live but the real release is in the Fall. World for me!!

I would say Hamburg/Hanover/Bremen and Stuttgart/Munich for Germany. No Munich if they play Vienna, no Hamburg if they play (western) Denmark.

I would say somewhere around the Collogne/Düsseldorf/Dortmund area (big market for ticket sales and nearby the Netherlands). No Hannover if they play in the Netherlands (I'm sure they will play there again - but not Pink Pop),

Do you think they really care? Profits from album sales will be a drop in the bucket compared to whatever profits they could make from touring. Any new album they release will have weak sales for two reasons; 1) their time has long since past, and 2) CD sales in general are miserable and have been in decline since 1999.
Imagine how many millions they have raked in since late 2012 from touring. I can't see anything new and exciting in a proposed 2017 tour in Europe. I am really not convinced that it will happen and the sun should set on touring. It's been a long and pretty great run for sure.

Thanks, Nate.
Any chance of getting a source? I know you've spoken to Ronnie in the past.

There will be a new record size concert venue opening in Oslo, Norway during the first week of July, 2017. Up to now the largest venue in Norway has been Valle Hovin, a speedskating concrete field near Hasle. The Rolling Stones performet at Valle Hovin on Wed Aug 8, 2007.
The new venue "Voldsløkka idrettspark" has been approved by Oslo Kommujne (the town office) for a one-day festival during the first week-end of July 2017. There will be an event with one of the world largest acts, plus support.
Venue : Voldsløkka idrettspark
Capacity 60,000 people
Date : Saturday July 1 or Sunday July 2, 2017
Area: Nydalen, Oslo
Festival tickets in Norway are typically NOK 2,000 up so this would make a potential for NOK 120 million revenue i.e. 15 million US dollars. The orgnanizer Atomic Soul work with AEG Live so this festival will for sure be up for bids for a possible Stones show.

They could have played ten shows in Germany or even twenty no problem. But... they want to get around to different crowds of all ages. If they charged 250 Euro for a ticket in Germany there would be a riot. That is the difference.

there were not riots at Berlin's Waldbuehne (at least not in 2014)
