Keith Richards talks about percussionist Ollie Brown who played with The Rolling Stones during 1975-1977. The interview, with Mick Jagger and Ron Wood was filmed for French TV in 1976.

I like Keith's answer to Mick : "I'm already talking to somebody young fellow"
there was tension between our guys in 1976

does anyone know what Mick answered to Keith ?

Keith talks to Marlon, who interrupted the interview.
Filmed on EMI campus in Paris, early June '76.

It was forty years ago today...
Es ist jetzt vierzig Jahre her...

Stuttgart, Neckarstadion, June 19. 1976
The first Stadium concert of the Rolling Stones ever!

Very mediocre audio recording, for old tiimes' sake only (I think no better recording ever surfaced):

...Was this the tour where there had been rumours behind 'the iron curtain' that the Stones were gonna play East-berlin? quite massive street riots supposedly broke out there, after it became obvious that 'this gig' was not te be, and the fans blamed the regime for that?!

Anybody have some info on that? I've never seen this story confirmed... (don't even recall where I read and/or heard it.)

Yeah, the Zagreb concerts... as I posted before, my uncle went to the 2nd night (happy anniversary, unc!), said they did "Angie" which was a nice surprise as they omitted it on the first date; this was also mentioned in one review after the gigs.
Mick was pouring water over the crowd, took another bucket, came towards Ronnie or Keith (uncle just said "guitarist" ) and the crowd went "ohhh!" probably fearing of electrocution, but Mick of course threw confetti at him.
There are also few more old threads on the subject, but all those cool scans from the old YU magazines that Voja uploaded aren't there anymore. So I'll repost some of them from my "Zagreb '76" folder, sorry if I can't remember the exact source.
Most of the photos were taken by the great Branislav "Brian" Rasic. There's also an interview with Ronnie, who mentions how they shortened the 2 hrs 30 min set from the previous year (the US tour) to 1 hr 40 min for the EU tour.

Voja's original tickets (scans from Nico Zentgraf's website):

Articles:

Also, some nice pics in colour by late Vican Vicanovic can be viewed online in an old issue of the "Džuboks" magazine:

(click on "76", then on issue #25)

There's also this info from NZ's website: "Yugoslavian TV (RTZ). Report on the first Zagreb-show, incl. - If You Can't Rock Me (MJ/KR) -Zagreb 21.6.76" - been searching for this clip for years... still, it's good to know it's out there.

So... Nobody in the clear about this?

EDIT: aaah... Look what I found!

So it was 1969, not '76 - and supposedly a rooftop gig on the west side, not an actual gig on the east side.

They should put together whatever cuts they can find, from whatever source of the tour, and not concentrate on one concert. Zeppelin did this a few years back and did a wonderful job.

exactly. One terrific sparkling cherryplosion of a 1975 powdercake and one funky muddled tar groove of 1976. 1972-1973 they should releaase everything. Same for 1969, 1970 and 1971.

Love it when people put out something like a bootleg from 1976 and the picture on the cover is from 1982. Guess I'm just a stickler for details.

1976- yes nice memories coming up!
First I`ve got my driving license and then I`ve been on tour:

Frankfurt, Munster, Kiel, Berlin, Brussels, Stafford, Dortmund, Koeln (2Shows on 1 Day), Muenchen. Some of the Shows with the Hells Angels as "Security"
I didn't notice anyone who was missing Mick Taylor. With Ronnie there was a fresh breeze in the air. It was great!

It`s nice to be here, .....
