Hendrix
...missed him on his last date, age 14 and my parents didn`t allow me to go. Guy I knew, my age, broke off from home, travelled to Scandinavia as a kid, witnessed Hendrix from afar. Now he`s a fine player, guitar tech and teacher. Hendrix touched him like lightning

Prince is my only regret.

He was playing in Oakland the night before I started my new job in Las Vegas this past March. It's only a 1-hour flight, but I had to be at the new job at 7am sharp, and live an hour from work. Friends and I debated the wisdom of my going, and I opted not to. Right decision but I'm sad it had to be that way.

The three I will carpe diem if the chance arises: Iggy Pop, Stevie Wonder, and Paul McCartney.

PS - thanks for marking this thread OT -- recently people aren't doing that -- desperate to have people read their posts and know a certain % will automatically skip theirs if it's marked as OT?

Hi Bard, I strongly reccommend going to see MCCartney, even now. Yes, he needs vocal help from his band for some songs but the show is well worth a try. I saw him in Paris last night and he was absolutely rocking. Ditto the Who. Not the vintage Who but they still give it all they have and put on a good show. I've seen 3 shows in the last year and they're doing a mini Euro tour in August/September.

The Beatles (I was born in 1965, so...)
The Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
The Who
The Kinks
Led Zep
Black Sabbath
ELP
Yes
James Taylor (the early years)
Springsteen/E Street Band
McCartney solo
Harrison solo
Clapton

I never got to see any of them as I was too young (actually, forgot, saw Clapton in the late 1980s at a gig called Jones Beach Theatre/NY).

velvet Revolver in 2005.
They were a fantastic band.
Slash was very inspired. I prefer them to the reunited GN'R.

GO GO GO if you even think about it and think it will be fun and cool, GO GO GO

And that includes these days... new groupls like Wolf Alice....
Old groups like....

Like Jefferson Starship is still touring without Paul, right now,
and when they come through in tiny, teeny tiny venues, I am going... I hope.

And groups like the Doobie Brothers...
Check out songs from their recent setlist...
You know everyone of these great rock songs.

Rockin’ Down the Highway;
Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While);
Eyes of Silver;
Spirit;
Takin’ It to the Streets;
Black Water;
I Cheat the Hangman;
China Grove;
Without You;

And dont rely of word of mouth or the "radio" to tell you who is coming...
In the states you can find who is coming by constantly searching [www.pollstar.com]
Be sure to input your city name, or cities you like to go to see shows.

Elvis Presley (living in the south, I had several chances, but never went to see him)

The Beatles (never came close to where I lived, and I was 9 years old when they first came to the US, so I was a bit young....). I have seen Paul three times and George and Ringo one time each, though, so.....3/4 of the Beatles!

Led Zeppelin (my best chance to see them was in 1975, and my band had a gig that night, which meant much needed grocery money. Always thought I'd see them another time, but just did not happen. I've seen Plant three times, though, and John Paul Jones once,so....1/2 of Zeppelin!)

That is really the only three. I got to see the Stones 10 times, the Who 4 times, both Pink Floyd and Roger Waters, Bowie, Queen, Little Feat, and a lot of the artists mentioned here, so I feel lucky.
