Everyone has their own taste, but this is not even one of their greatest 75 songs. It’s disjointed with silly vocals

As you said, everyone has their taste, so you can’t say that it is not one of their great songs from 75, just that it is your opinion.

I think it is great but that is just my opinion.

This song is a gem. Should be played more live. It's also in my personal top 25 RS songs...

The first Stones tune I ever heard. Loved it instantly. Still do thumbs up

Love this track with Wayne Perkins great solo
Live with Ronnie no, always disappointed by his game (Paris 2006 version for exemple).

That is this version.
Ronnie solo sounds awful.

Has anyone been able to download the App Exclusive version from Toronto 2013?
[iorr.org]

Probably the best live version ever to my ears.

Oslo 2014 worried about you
[youtu.be]

Drew

This is my filming of the song in Oslo. With my Lucky Dip I was sitting right in the back seat of the venue

[youtu.be]

This was my second time I witnessed this song. First time Cirkus Krone 2003 right in front of Mick & Keith, in my memory a bit better than this one. But this was the first show after the death of L’Wren Scott. So I thought this one was specially sung by Mick for her. I found it emotional at that moment and liked it very much!

I disagree about your description of the song. Still I don't consider it great. On its album that is far from my favourite album, to me only "Waiting on a Friend" is a great song. "No Use in Crying", even if not outright great, I also find a very good song.("Black Limousine" and possibly "Slave" are quite good.) "Worried about You" is maybe OK.

Nice isn’t it? We all have our own taste, which is good! I like the album very much, with great songs on it. smiling smiley

Has anybody noticed the resemblance with If You Are Ready (Come Go With Me) by the Staples Singers?

I'd never heard this song - I've gotta check out more of their stuff!

I see what you mean a bit (not a musician btw) - it seems like some of the bass line and horns from the Staples Singers sounds like part of the descending guitar played in the stones track unless I'm mistaken?

Anything else I'm missing?

Great song. Love Keith's background vocals. I had it on a bootleg called Reggae and Roll from the Black and Blue sessions - it was a big surprise when it turned up on Tattoo You.

My only misgiving about the live versions (I saw it at the Astoria) is that Mick tends to 'shout' parts of the vocal that could be performed with more feeling.

The recorded version is a bit murky, which is strange when you think about how pristine Black and Blue is.

Nonetheless - great song.

Tattoo You is the last time they truelly produced a master-piece.
The A-side is already wonderful, full of steaming soul and rock n roll.
The B-side is an absolute marvel. I like to think of the B-side as one single unity, a bit like the Exile album: you can't take anything away or add anything to it. Worried About You is one the gems along Tops, Heaven, No Use In Crying and Waiting On A Friend.
That a band in their 20th year (more or less) of their existence could come up with such an album is incredible and shows that at their best, they were always a lot more than just a rock n roll band.

For me this is one of Mick's best vocals ever. The chorus is just delicious.

It's a great track.

In fact, when you're in the mood for it, the whole side 2 of TY is as good as it gets.

It really is outstanding. To this day I'm still amazed that they didn't finish any of those tunes when they recorded them.

It's fantastic that they didn't, of course, because otherwise... no Sonny Rollins on Slave, Neighbours or Waiting On A Friend!!!

Mick finished some of the vocals on Worried About You in the fall of 1980, along with Tops, Heaven, No Use In Crying and Waiting On A Friend (and some of the side 1 tracks).

I wish Kimsey would say if there were more tracks than what is TATTOO YOU that they worked on. It's incredelous to think they only worked on 11 songs.

As much as I love Worried About You - I find the outtake with original vocals far, far better. It sounds live, Jagger sounds a bit drunk, and the fact that it runs slow makes it an even better listen. Utterly fantastic.

Thank you Mathijs for this outtake - never heard it before. Love it! Love the more elaborate albumversion too.
