yes, mtaylor, here we are now, Germany vs France !
it's quite a different game to come
we'll have to be very strong especially in defense where we have seen some weakness against Iceland tonight.

Germany without Gomez, Khedira and Hummels.

I guess Germany could use a goal scorer.

yes right !
It could be some kind of opportunity to make things less complicated for us.

Next match - Germany vs France will be interesting to watch.-D

Not so sure, we'd always got some troubles with them, I still have the semi_final of the World Cup 1982 in mind, the kind of thing you never forgot.
yes I remember this moment too.

It was known that the FIFA wanted to have Germany and Italy for the 1982 final so the dutch referee (Charles Corver) offered his help to reach this goal.
There was an incident at the Seville airport when both teams left Spain to go back home. While they were waiting for their plane, the german team and their new friend Corver clearly provoked the French team by laughing at them.

That was the mentality of some people at that time, disastrous and shameful ! of course, the top was Schumacher and his poor behaviour.
But I think that now the Germans have changed their mentality.

There own government, the German government, conceded the West German football team was doping for decades.

Or any other number of stories. It's a complex situation. I think some have accused the government of not making available all of the data they have on this systemized doping.

Their report included the '54 World Cup onwards; maybe even up and past the '74 World Cup.

Iceland fought bravely to the end, and I admire the way they managed to put two goals in.
But France, yeah, they were the first team this championship that showed they deserve
to be called a favorite.

France were lethal. Four chances and four goals in the first half. That's what I call killing it!

yes indeed BW !
and you probably know that Schumacher confirmed that himself was doped during the 82 World Cup and also confessed that he was not the only one in the german team.

Renato Sanches is accused of lying about his age.Renatos real age is 24 not 18 according to French coach Guy Roux. Sounds plausible to me.

Here we go and Stones related so perhaps folks will see this, make of it what one wants:

Quote

Posh footie Wales’ hero striker Hal Robson-Kanu lived next to Princess Di and played with Mick Jagger’s kids

Excerpted:

Quote

“Mick Jagger was just another parishioner.

“The church attracted many, many powerful people because of its position next to the palace and they all knew my grandparents.

“Not many footballers can say they grew up alongside royalty, celebrities, politicians and rich and powerful people.

“But my grandma would always keep my feet on the ground and introduced me to homeless people as well.

“I had no idea how privileged my life was at the time but I had friends from the other side of the tracks as well, so I feel very lucky.”

Same issue with Falcao. People claimed he was older than his official age.

In this case I do believe the rumour. He's as much 18 as those 35 000 Afghan young anchor men
coming to Sweden every year are 16. Basically you don't look like this when you're 18:

He looks more like a grown man than a teenager so to speak. Both facially and bodily. You don't think so?

Iceland were caught with their pants down in the quarterfinals. 4-0 after 45 minutes says it all. It was not a graceful ending. That doesn't take away from their total achievement though.

Okey, we differ there then. There's one exception to the rule though: Wayne Rooney - he looked like 28 when he was 16...

I know a Wales supporter; he thinks the suspensions will really hurt the team.

I don't know. I'm always optimistic with my teams.

I've got a soft spot for Portugal as well.

A lot of people seem to think that because Portugal has the experience and because they have been there, that will help them out.

But Belgium was a very good team and Wales did splendid against them.

Sanches only started playing for Portugal in 2016 apparently, now this photo to me, does look more like 18 years old. But we can look at various photos on our own.

[uk.soccerway.com]

Very youthful here;

The other photo on this webpage above looks a bit like he has lost practically all body fat to me or at least, it is at a very low percentage. They try to get the players as lean as possible.

Reminds me some of this fellow, "we're gonna rock down to.."

Very even to me though I don't think it will go to penalties. Just my view, tossup.
