Now the tournament starts for real for us Swedes. If we're going to win one game in the group stage - this must be it. We're facing Irland. One minute to go! Go sweden!

Half time. I'm afraid Irland is the better team so far. By a margin. One in the crossbar. I hope things will change for the better in the second half. Otherwise a draw is the best we can hope for...

Ireland is the more dangerous team. Sweden must get their game up a few notches.

Ah, thank you Marco! Unfortunately I got caught already by a whole bunch of competitors... Feels like those early sprinters in cycling that are passed by the whole squad after a while. A good moment of glory, though! Best of luck to you and all who are in the game.

Wow, thanks guys! I've been very lucky so far, especially considering my general knowledge of football. Anyway, things can change quickly once someone gets the the 5 points bonus.

I think I'll miss tomorrow in my country Portugal vs Iceland...

we could expect more from Belgium, it's a bit disapointing.
but Italy is always good during international competition so no big surprise they won yesterday.

Italy and Germany have impressed me the most so far. Spain and France will move up a gear. England have a big job on their hands against Wales.

Belgium was nervous, I guess. Seemed like a lot of unnecesary wrong passes and missed
chances.
The Czechs played even more defensive than Italy. Hard to be entertained by a team that
plays like that.

IMO, Italy just has a different way of attacking, compared to Spain, Belgium and other teams. Quicker, and with higher tempo. Great combinations and counter-attacks.

Their defensive and attacking game is neatly tied together.

Of course it's more effective! Everything is done when the other team is off balance. That's when it hurts the most

The czech republic just parked the bus in their own box. A different game, imo. Italy had an attacking plan as well. A damn good one, methinks.

They will be hard to beat..

Yeah, I didn't mean to disqualify Italy, because I am impressed by both goals.
Really well played.
It takes a lot of nerves to finish an attack like these so brilliantly.

It's just that it seems a bit unfair. Belgium worked really hard trying to find a way
in the box. I would have appreciated if all this effort was awarded. Belgium was really
close a couple of times to make it a 1-1. But their attackers lacked the "coolness"
the Italians had.

I'll tell you, Ireland is always a more difficult team to meet than one might think. Ask Germany..

You guys did fine, but Sweden needs to know its limitations, imo. They just can't outplay these teams. When they played direct was when they created chances against Ireland.

Just my two cents.




PS: And I'm 1/8th swedish, so I'm secretly cheering for you guys...
