I heard that Rod just announced (at his Ziggo Dome gig tonight) a Faces reunion.

No use to have reunion right now. Rod should've said yes when Ian was still alive.

Everyone blames Rod for the lack of Faces reunions but he was the one trying to get that together back in the 90's (on and off), he even took Mac on the road as part of his touring band for a few years.

I might go if Axl Rose is on vocals. Too late, Rod, too late.

for $350 a gig plus per dieum.

When promoting the most recent reunion Rod implied that it was easier to make it happen with Mac gone. I'm guessing they had some disagreements about money and Mac was holding out for a more equal share... And

F**k Rod. Too little too late buddy. You had 40 f**king years to get this right and you chose to be a whiney little baby about it. If it took Ian dying for you to finally come around, its even more of a money grab than I would have thought it could have been. I think the Faces are great. I really like their music. But Rod CAN'T do that material justice anymore and I wouldn't pay money to support his "I'll do it without Ian" brigade. If I were Ron and Kenny, I'd say "you f**ked up, now live with it".

The LEAST Rod could have done was attend the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony and he didn't. So while I love Rod Stewart, and the Faces, he can screw himself on this topic.

I'm still not over the death of Ian McLagan.

I saw him play many times when he lived in L.A.

I would speak with him before and after shows. He once asked me if I would help him load an amp in the back of his car when he was packing up after a gig at the Palomino! A few years later when Ronnie Lane played there, the place was packed and all eyes were on Mac when he entered. He spotted me sitting near the front, and stopped over to shake my hand!

Had a running email correspondence with him when he lived in Austin. Once when I was in the hospital he sent me a get well message! So beyond being a great rock star, he was a real good human being who was incredibly generous with his time to this fan. It was such a terrible shock when he left us, and when I look at photos that I had taken with him over the years, it just breaks my heart.

I'll never forget seeing him at the tiny Lucky Lounge when we visited Austin. He did a weekly gig there, and the place was far from full. My wife and I were kicked back on a couch just a few feet from the stage! (lucky lounge indeed) It was like watching him in our living room!

That night, the sound of his keyboard when he played "Cindy Incidentally" or "Itchycoo Park" made you feel like you weren't just hearing a small piece of those bands...it felt like the whole thing. The music was very much alive, and it seemed he was channeling both the sound and spirit of those two groups... and he did it ALL BY HIMSELF.



Faces without Mac is like the Stones without Keith.

So forget about it.

I doubt he actually announced anything official.
He has been talking about doing it for several years.
I saw the 45 mins set last year at Kenney Jones polo club
with Rod and Ronnie and Kenney which was great...but short..
but this should have been done way before Ian M sad death.
Rod says Ronnie is always busy with The Stones....blah blah blah
Ronnie says Rod always touring...blah blah blah
They put our feelers for wanting to do Glastonbury Festival
but nothing has come back.
C'mon boys just fit in some gigs for the long waiting fans...
Rods manager does not help things along by saying Rod
should get more money than the others...like he needs it...
Eric Clapton did it proper with Cream before other members dying
and getting sick.

I suppose if you can have AC/DC without Bon, Mal and Phil then in theory you can do The Faces without Ronnie Lane and Mac- but why would you want to?

Rod plays a lot of songs of the faces in Amsterdam instead of yesterday in Antwerp. In the Ziggo Dome he only said that there will be possibly a new faces reunion. I don't know where the rumours come of the date of 15.09.16. I was at Hurtwood Park Polo Club last year and it was great. I hope to see them again soon!
