Great subjects for a Stones movie

1. Satisfaction: You've got this British r/b band touring America -- staying in cheap hotels, playing wherever they can, two young men (Mick and Keith) working on songs together, Brian and Bill picking up stray girls, Charlie doing whatever he did, lots of personal dynamics at work here, building to Keith coming up the Satisfaction riff in his sleep (probably apocryphal but a great visual), working on the lyrics by the pool, going into the studio, the band votes on releasing the song (3-2, who was the swing vote?) and climaxes with people hearing this groundbreaking song, shooting it up the charts and propelling the band to stardom.
...
2. The Brian-Keith-Anita triangle. Two young men falling out over a woman, one becoming more powerful every day, the other fading away. Anita of course was a bewitching character. The trip to Morocco. Keith triumphant and Brian despondent. But Keith perhaps winding up with a prize that wasn't good for him in the long run.
...
3. World War 3: A mature, wiser movie. Opens with the dysfunction of the Dirty Work sessions. Keith pretending to sleep when Mick shows up at the studio. Fighting through intermediaries. Charlie disappearing. Descending into the solo careers that didn't quite work out. And then, finally, the principals meet, make a truce and form a new working relationship that has now lasted for two decades, longer than the original working relationship.
...
4. Keith and Patti: A love story. Two wild childs fall in love and settle down in the Connecticut suburbs. Kind of an addiction/recovery story if the truth of that could come out.
...
5: Jagger: No idea! The man is so private I'm not sure what the story would be.

Hope this post is OK. Very much enjoying this board and being with fellow Stones fans!

I vote for WW3! Could you include some action segments like Charlie knocking out Jagger and Keith going mad with a gun? And the Brenda bit?

Interesting post. I think the Satisfaction idea would make an interesting movie/short.

I watched Stoned last year, and although it was far from perfect, a lot of the images/scenes stick in my head still.

ps. Pete Clemenza, if you can-t improve the silence, say nothing.

it should be about the very early days, before they made it big...Brian and Stu meeting Mick and Keith would be the first episode in a tv series. they build towards the first single from that point.

A movie about the glory days of touring in 1970 leading up to the release of Sticky Fingers in 1971. They were the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world but it was still very simple; a line of amps on the stage and a straightforward performance and all very real. They were still a relatively small touring entity. It was before corporate rock, a real rock band really playing on a stage with a more human scale. People actually rushed the stage and had their elbows on the front of the stage just like in Gimme Shelter.

That was the sweet spot of rock'n'roll. It was both more innocent and by today's standards reckless with very lax security.

I think Bill German already wrote the script for that one.

Georgia Chain Saw Massacre -

Chuck lives on crack for a week then flips and starts chain-sawing
down all the trees in the state before Woody with heavy back-up from
Bernard steals The Spruce Goose and together they fire-bomb Chuck to try
and stop him but this just sets the plane and the whole state ablaze.

Mick and Charlie turn up and shock Chuck out of his drug haze by
dragging him up a mountain to an old abandoned piano factory and
showin' him what pianos are constructed of ...

Ends climatically with Keith saving Woody & Bernard
from burning plane then riding madly up mountain waving rain-stick.
Chuck regains his mind, crawls to an old piano and counts The Stones
into a massive version of Rain Falls Down as the clouds split open

yeah, that's the one about Brian right? Film seemed a little too soft-core porn for me hahah but i liked their use of the music, especially "Time is On My Side" in the last scene.

Edith Grove has the makings of a great sitcom - except that so much of it has already been covered by The Young Ones.

A miniseries.
Start at the very beginning, with @#$%& trying to bomb Keith in his crib.

Mick & Bianca...What went Wrong?

In honor of what would have been their 40th anniversary, this made for TV movie explores the turbulent relationship and lives of rock's royal couple.
(Orlando Bloom,Mila Kunis) 2hrs.

How about a live DVD from the 1999 No Security tour instead.

Another great movie would be about the social and music scene in Swinging London through the psychedelic times in 1967. Centered around the Stones, but lots of stuff with the Beatles, the Animals, the Who, etc. By design, the movie is going to be positive. So leave out the drug busts, and Brian spinning out of control, just focus on the happy exciting times and accentuate the positive.

I just absolutely love those pictures of the Beatles and the Stones in the mod fashions, and also in the happy shiny people Hippy clothing. So perhaps the movie would cover a time from from say mid 1965 to mid 1967. The important thing would be to have no cynicism in the movie. Yes, the flower children and the psychedelic scene was already dying out by the end of 1967, so don't even go there! The movie could end with a big party at John Lennon's house or something like that where everybody drops acid at midnight and they have have a really good buzz going as they lay around by the pool and watch the sun coming up early in the morning.

A move to capture the positive vibes, the creativity, the excitement, and the exuberance of being a rich and tripping out rock star when you are only 23 or 24 years old and in the prime of your flaming youth. Everything was absolutely new, they were in completely uncharted territory and doing stuff that had never been done before.

I would have loved to have been there but like the song goes I was just a kid. I can still remember 1967 though, and I remember it quite well. But I didn't know the Stones existed at the time!

Better a mini series that follows a hapless Mick as he tries to keep all the women in his life happy while he's sneaking out the back door....

I was going to say, Their women. ...

That's a classic French comedy there....or a Pedro Almodovar movie...

There was actually a play a few years ago where Mick and Bianca were portrayed fighting and yelling at each other in french. They were not the main characters, but that was a subplot. I can't remember what or who it was...
I read an interview a while back where Vanessa Hudgens said her dream role is Bianca Jagger in a movie about the Stones....I'd cast Rosario Dawson, Mick, I have no idea.

A young Bianca is the very finest babe that Mick ever had, IMO. She was an "Exotic 10." I look at some pictures of her and I drool.

Yeah, the movie Shampoo comes to mind too.

As for who could play Mick, I can't imagine who either..heck, he could probably still pull off playing himself! grinning smiley

Yes! Shampoo! One of my favorite movies from the 70s..
It would have to be a comedy.
