My crowd claustrophobia is kicking in at the prospect. So is this like a big hot desert with no way out?

Yes! Just tune in to the other Coachella Festival starting today, you can live stream it. But in October it is going to be so much hotter and is a time of the year when there are Santa Ana winds blowing from the east. And I don't care what you say, the primary concert goers are going to be older and richer, how are they going to accommodate them? I might go if I don't have to camp there, and can stay with nearby relatives. Would rather it was an arena.

In October it's not going to be as hot as it is now.

No hotter! September-October is when we get the hottest weather in SoCal. Later October is cooler. October is also fire season here!

Didn't Bob Dylan call the Santa Ana winds "the apocalyptic winds" on his old radio show, does anybody remember that?

Yep: “West coast weather is the weather of catastrophe. The Santa Ana winds are like the winds of the apocalypse. But the summer wind that Frank’s singing about may be a little lighter. Come on in, Frank.” [www.themetimeradio.com]

This is going to be organized much differently than the April festival.

I am sure there are going to be single day tickets as well as hotel packages and RV parking.

This could be a disaster or if there are somewhat affordable tickets it could be an opportunity for the young fan base to enjoy seeing these bands.

But I bet a huge portion of the front is seated and/or VIP'd out.

Saturday might be the best day if it starts early and Neil Young gets to play 3 hours too.

Also this all looks so much better on paper than it would probably be in reality.

I disagree with that. This could very well be the next Woodstock, or the new one for old people or something.

*I know. I tried selling it to my old man, not happening.

Isn't this potential confirmation that the Stones will tour USA this fall?

Argh! Not what I was hoping for as a Stones concert. I can't imagine it will be 2 hours long. Coachella in October will be very very hot and windy. I think my Stones friend and I will hold out for a better venue to follow hopefully. Am hoping the SF, Seattle, Las Vegas, NY rumors pan out.

The Stones are touring the NE coast in late 2016. Dates and locations have been chosen. Philly, NYC, BOSTON are for sure.

The fall tour was booked before Ole was finished. Coachella was inked back in January, but it was supposed to play out that Guns and Roses were to be fired from the tour with The Stones taking their spot. Once GNR got it together, this idea was born.

Could this possibly mean the West coast in early 2017?

Thank you for those sharing their info.

While I am not an old whiney-ass American
I am a bit sheltered/ shy small female
nonetheless it's ME now
who would love to see Dylan (never seen) and the Stones!
the same day. Love CA and the outside sun. Coachella seems pretty tame w/ rules enforced.
Friday only would be my goal, and my opinion,
any time the RS 'kick off a new round of shows'
seems to me the band fresh from rehearsal is more willing
to include more un- warhorses
and Jagger's at fighting weight and on fire.
What a gig.
Don't think my spouse is on board tho, even w/ a fine hotel.

I'm in as long as this isn't going to cater to the boomers. That would make it a borefest

LA times is reporting one stage and full length sets and production for all acts.
This could be amazing. I'm in Australia and my friend who've I've travelled the last 3 Stones Oz tours with has already reserved a cheap hotel nearby for that weekend. Now to wait for the official announcement, get tickets and leave from work approved!

Nah, plenty of our amigos locos from Argentina and Europe will keep it exciting.

The way I read it it seemed like this was in its final preparations. All they need now is the Boss, Led Zep and Elton.
What has happened to my Rock'n Roll?
It's going to be a day of media placement, portable toilets, music biz insiders, and package deals. Music will not make a showing.

Hopefully, I'm not in the mood for another boring NA crowd.

This seems like a done deal if the 500 bucks a night the Super 8 motel in Indio is asking for that weekend is anything to go by.

Sorry but UGH.
Mick J must be laughing his asss off.
Okay, out.
And please please, don't ever post an x-ray of your old foot again.

Are the stones looking at an arena run for the east coast or stadiums. I remember they played outside in Foxboro Mass in late October for Bridges to Babylon and it was damn cold.
