I so sorry Mark, thats so very hard to swallow I can only imagine how difficult this time is for you....i lost someone (notmychild) in 2007 and found a heightened sense of meaning in things and i think it helped me to write these observations which were mystical magical and meaningful...(((hugs)))this is a spiritual journey. know that you are not alone

First, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I witnessed my parents losing their child. It is devastating and contrary to the natural order of things.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Sometimes we (or at least I) forget that we are all in this together in so many ways - even online. I love coming to this community because there are people all over the world I can connect with over something I love. Even a bunch of Stones nerds can help each other out.

Yesterday (April 6) was the 35th anniversary of my brother's death at the age of 15. I found the Stones when I was 13 - a mere month after my brother died. I did a lot of solo driving, and found myself listening to the Stones over and over again. On a day when my emotional sensitivity tends to be heightened, I reveled in the both the incredible sadness ("No Expectations" ) and sheer joy ("Jigsaw Puzzle," "Rock's Off" ) the Stones bring to me. Music can be so therapeutic. Let it take you wherever it takes you. It's so important not to censor your emotions. It will help you process your grief and remember the wonderful times you and your son had.

Condoleances from France.

To lose a child must be devastating. It is hard enough when friends and family go, but parent child bonds run sooo deep. I have 5 children and cannot even imagine the feelings if one were lost to me. Grieving is such a personal experience. Let it happen and remember all of your feelings are real, and unique to your life experience. It's a cleanse of sorts that needs to run its course, as painful a process it is. Your son will feel your love always.
