Then there's no new album in 2016. smiling smiley

Maybe the new album will be first, then the US-Tour in Fall 2016, Europe 2017 (55th Anniversary in London) and after that the rest of the world again ....

Completely absurd if the UK doesn't get a gig before the USA

Yep, as another proud Brit (and Scot), I wholeheartedly agree. I was at 3 of those 5 shows. Surely it would not be difficult for them to organise something in the London area in late Summer. Hopefully those Knebworth rumours last year which sprouted arms and legs actually meant this year?

If they are doing a Fall tour of North America, hopefully they can do Knebworth as a prequel for that. Come on Stones, they say you should never forget where you came from!

I wonder if there are tax reasons behind it? We all remember the short notice csncellstion of the UK leg of BtB in 1998 sad smiley

I think they want to get back to having UK dates as part of other Euro dates, so I think 2017 is more probable. I'm in the USA in September, arriving back in the UK October 1st..............typical.

Got to be realistic - Every show could be their last . We are into unknown territory . Long may they Roll !

I don't think it would be difficult to put on a UK show this year, and why not. Yes it doesn't produce the money like USA but as you say they shouldn't forget where they come from.

There hasn't been a proper tour of the United Kingdom since 1971. For a British act that has toured, and continues to tour, fairly solidly, I think us Brits have been dealt a somewhat poor hand for the past forty-five years. London, perhaps, has had a reasonable share, but the remainder of the British Isles has had to make-do with slim-pickings; no visits to Belfast, Northern Ireland, for fifty-one years! Taking their tax-exile from the United Kingdom into account, I suppose, at a pinch, one can vaguely understand the concept of lumping 'us' in with the mainland of Europe for these 'Euro-legs' of any given tour, but it grates; sometimes it does indeed. Okay, time to retire the little Englander hat for a bit!

London, and the whole of Wales,Scotland,Ireland, england is all year round beautiful. So is Holland.

Cant believe it, if the Stones wont do a show in their own country this year.

You know what would be nice? if they said no, no european tour, no usa tour, no asian tour but how about touring the UK one more time and not just London but yet including London! There are so many appropriate venues here and the demand would be incredible, and after all are The Rolling Stones not a British band anyway?

While I am really looking forward to some shows in Europe as I live in Germany, I hope they will just do their old concept of recording in summer and touring fall and next year. So if this is the case, they will do a US tour appr. sept-nov for say 20 shows and release the album while touring. Then they could take the spring off or do a few shows in Japan and move on to a tour of Europe and Great Britain in the summer and close the whole thing in London.

They did a lot of UK dates in smallish venues on the '76 tour as well, complete with £3 tickets winking smiley

That 1971 tour was openly a 'Farewell U.K.' tour before they left these shores to become tax exiles in the South of France. They got a lot of bad press here at the time for doing so. They recorded a rather notable album whilst in Exile the following year grinning smiley
