Up to this point, I have kept my mouth shut for fear of being branded one of those "whiner" types-and don't get me wrong, I am happy that this stuff is being released from the vaults, but for what they charging for this set, they really can't include the missing tracks?? I mean this is so typically Stones like-just like with the release of the Sticky Fingers re-issue. Like, why are we only treated to half of the 1971 Roundhouse show which was arguably a more solid and spirited performance than Leeds show (although it was nice finally having Jumping Jack Flash and Live With Me in the Leeds set). I mean, why as fans are we continually teased and have to pay big bucks to acquire this stuff? Yes, I know I'm sounding ungrateful here, but like many who inhabit this site, I'm a long time fan who would like to have these shows COMPLETE and in great quality before I'm too senile and old to enjoy it.

....appreciate the thought, but I'd settle for complete El Mocambo shows in great quality, complete Paradiso shows (both nights), and all three MSG 1969 (sans overdubs) shows over the Viagara any day....

No "Memory Motel" or "let's spend the night together" from the studio?

They're at least on the 'Stripped Companion' Bootleg: [www.filefactory.com] , [www.filefactory.com] . smiling smiley

Yes thanks. I have that cd or one similar and listen to it often. The quality is
great.

Do you know if all of the songs we are not getting are available to put out in good condition? I remember hearing about we only the the songs that were on the radio (Roundhouse?) because they were saved and in good condition.

Maybe you can see what songs from Roundhouse and Leeds were on the radio to see if what I heard makes sense?

It's definitely not being ungrateful! After all, they are a very profitable business which relies on us for their income.

I would hazard a guess that the unreleased outtakes that appeared on the Stripped Companion boot are being held back for a future deluxe release of the Stripped CD? Totally Stripped only shares a name with the original CD. From posts on Facebook, even the documentary is entirely new and not an expanded version of the 1995 TV broadcast.

Firstly, we should be thankful that The Stones are not just re-releasing what's already out on bootleg. I believe they perfectly well know that Stripped Companion are in many fans collections and that all the b-sides which were part of the Stripped singles are also already available on other collections. There is no need for all those tracks to be released again and again, unless it's for the sake of completeness. 5 songs from the Toshiba Sessions exists in pristine quality and 6 songs (Live With Me, Gimme Shelter, Tumbling Dice, It's All Over Now, Black Limousine and All Down The Line) are widely and readily available. How uncool would it be that they were just re-releasing those things on this collection? Stripped Companion are one of the band's most essential bootlegs. Even The Stones know that. Fans already own that thing. As for yet more outtakes from those sessions, well we don't know in what state they are in. They could be complete, but could just as well be lousy jam's. I often wonder why fans are always moaning for what they doesn't get, instead of being glad of what's being presented to them. 10 years ago, a set like this would be a fantasy. I guess it's hip to be a moaner. No matter how many things this band releases, there will always be fans moaning over it. It just irritates me. Be thankful for once. It will suit yer all.

FIRSTLY what the hell is Brussels, Hampton, LA, Hyde Park 69, etc? The main complaint about this collection is the audio CD and that should have started with Stripped Companion. It really irritates me that I go hunting down and spending the money on these Deluxe Japanese "incomplete bootlegs" to have you saying I should be thankful. Let's make one thing clear - This is a BRAND not a Band and I am the consumer. If I want to whine or b!t#h it's my right...go suit yourself.

I am pretty disappointed in the cd track listing. Aside from Jump On Top Of Me and Meet Me In The Bottom, they still could have included tracks like It's All Over Now, Monkey Man, I Can't Get Next To You, Connection etc. instead of the warhorses or alternate versions of songs that were already included on the original Stripped.

thumbs upthumbs upthumbs up

I fully agree with you. Apart from that, I think it is obvious by now that they have opened the vaults, but are not "cleaning" or "clearing" them - they intentionally hold material back for future releases, and this "Totally Stripped"-project is no exception. However, it will probably take quite a while until they touch this "Stripped"-episode again. I just hope that I live long enough to finally hear more of the Toshiba and Portugal studio sessions in professionelly mixed sound quality (and Still A Fool from Amsterdam 2, for that matter) in a future "Stripped Again" expanded release.

Maybe the Toshiba Sessions and the missing Paradiso songs are easter eggs or bonus which are not listed in the press release. I can remember some extra´s on the Four Flicks box where also not listed and there they were. Maybe the surpise us this time too!
We can complain what is missing but be happy that at least 3 of the 4 clubshows are finally released after 20 years in pristine sound and vision!!

Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, left, and Keith Richards, right, perform an acoustic version of one of their
songs during video recordings at Amsterdam's Paradiso nightclub, May 27, 1995. Some 700 fans were
present at Paradiso and over 35,000 others gathered in the city's biggest square, Museum Square,
to watch the band on a video wall. Drummer Charlie Watts is seen in the background.

Firstly, of course everbody enjoys the fact, that they opened their archives.
Secondly: It´s not a gift, it´s buisness. To be disappointed by a product is the damm right of every consumer. we got brixton in perfect quality, we got paris in good quality, so what else could be interesting in the great club shows of ´95? Answer: Connection, sung by Keith AND Mick, and second: the obscure numbers of the second show. Thirdly: unknown Toshiba-tracks. But this is, what we WON´T get. It will be a great deluxe stripped, but TOTALLY stripped - äh, no. Nothing to do with "hip moaners" just thoughts of fans and collectors.

Like, why are we only treated to half of the 1971 Roundhouse show which was arguably a more solid and spirited performance than Leeds show (although it was nice finally having Jumping Jack Flash and Live With Me in the Leeds set). I totally agree with you! It's a real drag to get these precious releases always stuffed with useless warhorses played over and over again without any emotion.
Another (partially) wasted chance...sad smiley

Absolutely- if the powers that be were really smart about this project and had to make a choice of leaving off material, why not take out some of warhorses in favor of obscurities. I mean, wasn't the idea of these special club or smaller shows to showcase these rarely played songs in the first place?
