note: the article references a cassette tape but the photo shows a reel to reel tape.

Presumably these tracks are/ will be in the public domain so could be released commercially?

Then it shows a PICTURE of a REEL TAPE with a CAPTION:

"The unmarked reel-to-reel tape captures the previously unknown track 'No One Loves You More Than Me' and three unreleased early versions of Stones' classics"

SO WHICH IS IT?

Reel-to-reel used to come in cassettes. The tape released in 1962 by Philips was called a Compact Cassette. This was produced from 1964 and released in 1965 in Europe.

I'll pitch in what I can if you are going to go to the auction.

Always love new discovered songs or versions but these one's sound more like ELO demo's as for the new song not sure the Stones are happy that this song is found

I was hoping it would have been the Stones themselves but I suppose that didn't happen.

Did someone ask for the 30-second samples before the auction ?

The 30-second samples are still up on the Daily Mail site (see first post in the thread).

I don't suppose any of us will ever hear any more than that - they've probably gone to stay unreleased and increase in value in some anonymous bidder's very private collection.
