Yeah, I'd say we are partly to blame. If we'd only stop going to so many damned concerts the prices wouldn't be so high! grinning smiley

Complete nonsense to blame Joyce Smith.
Mick and Keith make their own decisions and have done since Klein's exit in 1970.

The real brains behind the Stones high ticket prices are Irving Azoff and The Eagles.

On the Voodoo Lounge Tour in 1994...the TOP ticket price at Giants Stadium
that July was $48.00.

The EAGLES played Giants Stadium the next month in August and charged well over a $100 dollars for some tickets but the average price was $92.00.

The Stones must of said to themselves...WTF?

okay, so the guy that couldn't care less about what happened to people at altamont cares about how fans are getting "Ripped-Off!" when they buy tickets. what a jerk.

Anyone got the full article here [www.thetimes.co.uk] ? It's off to a promising start : "Joyce Smyth not only went to the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary concert, she helped to make it happen, from fixing the backing choir to the ticket prices. She even designed a T-shirt. "

The Rolling Stones, et al, charge what the market will bear. Decades of sold out tours attest to that.

I thought I read somewhere in a thread that the Stones negotiate their take up front. Then it's up to Ticketb____rd to do their version of the sky's the limit....win or lose.

watch the altamont footage. this is the guy who doesn't give a F about the angels beating the hell out of the crowd.
plus, to claim it's wrong for the stones to earn great money, but it's okay for scalpers to get rich from ripping people off is ridiculous.

Ticketmaster has nothing to with setting ticket prices.

Michael Cohl is a Saint compared to Irving Azoff.

I'm not a basketball fan at all...but if you are in the U.S.
Irving Azoff took the owner of the Knicks for $60 million on a baloney
contract for Phil Jackson to run the Knicks into the ground the last two
years and probably set up a pre-meditated contract buyout.

Irving Azoff set the blue print for the American Concert rip-off experience.

Any comments to me about basketball...I know nothing...just know a bad deal when I see it.
