We spot Bjornulf (BV) on the rail in the black shirt on far right side of the photo. Hope this journey has been one to remember

Karen & Bill

It was a great show, and that position 8 rows back is recommended, by the rail. The stage is quite high, and if you get closer, you don't see much. All the three working photographers at this show wolrked from my position and backwards. Inclkuding Brian Rasic and Jane Rose. Don't have the name of the last one but I amsure you see his name in the credits of shots published.

By the way this wasn't the real Ole stage. Nobody cared. A great crowd make a great show. So Mick had his usual "I love this crowd" smile and were all over.

what is the altitude in lima?
Around 5,000 feet - similar to Denver, I think.

Estadio Monumental, elevation above sea level: 277 m (656 ft).

Google tells me the altitude of Lima ranges from 0-5000 feet.

I had my feet in the Pacific ocean i.e. the sea two days ago, and it is not much difference in altitude here in the city or through the 25 minutes drive to the stadium.

The altitude is appearing for the next two shows:

Bogota : 2,600 m
Mexico City : 2,250 m

Multiply by 3 or so to get feet...
Anything above 2.500 is getting a bit sort of hangover feeling unless you take it easy, but Mick will be in Bogota a few days before the show, and I have seen him several times in Mexico City with no problems, so his fitness is no worry, he is well fit and will be running as usual, may be one more slow song...

"And my brother from another mother! On vocals and the guitar, Keith Richards”

Did he say that in Spanish? One of the most personal things about Keith
he said in decades.

No, according to RollingStones.com: "Y mi campadre en vocales y guitarra Keith Richards!"

this is on the RS Update:

Tongue & Lips: The stage will look different for the rest of the tour, as part of it is currently being shipped to Cuba!

I actually don't mind the slimmed down stage. It has a cleaner look and the side screens seem bigger.

That makes me happy - I have 7th row (unfortunately not by the rail!) but on Ronnie's side for my birthday March 17 show in Mexico - hope to see you there smiling smiley

No, according to RollingStones.com: "Y mi campadre en vocales y guitarra Keith Richards!"

But where does the bold sentence come from? Itßs mentioned on RS.com

Lima is a city by the sea basically. Some suburbs are on higher elevation. There are mountains right behind the stadium, probably within city limits(?).

Yes, but the english translation is wrong. "Campadre" - or compadre, which I think it's the right word - doesn't mean "brother from another mother".

"Compadre" is the word. Exactly, mi compadre is "my pal"

yeah it seems like Mick is a lot friendlier to Keith recently.

he quit with the 'brother' stuff about Keith, years ago, way before 'Life' was published.

but he has said in interviews, mostly in the 70's and a bit later, 'Keith was born my brother by different parents"..

Right! And it is most used in Mexico.

For little anecdote.
"compadre" could be translated as "my best buddy, the one I go drink beer with" smileys with beer
It's heavily used over Latin America, it's sometimes used as "compa" or "compay".
That's where the name Compay Segungo comes from.
And for ladies, it's "comadre" or "comay" winking smiley
Saludos compadres !

Did RS.com giddily think it was short for "con el mismo padre" ? How touching :E

I did just arrive into Bogota Colombia for the next show. These are the first reports and pictures from the Lima Peru show. I will do more updates later today. As often little sleep and long travel the day after the show.
