I don't know if this stage is going to be bigger than the previous ones...but on the other hand, I don't care. My impression is that since the SW stage the stages on the following tours have always become a little bit smaller from tour to tour. The SW stage was a real monster and probably the biggest stage ever built. VL was very impressive and one of my favourites, but smaller. So was BtB and the smallest so far since SW was definitely the Licks stage. The new stage looks very tall to me but the stage itself doesn't seem to be that gigantic. But does it have to be the biggest ever? The main thing is what happens on stage - and my expectations are high that it will be a great, great tour with a loud guitar sound and Chuck way back in the mix (and on stage).
I recall walking into my first VL concert and one of my buddies made a comment that he thought the VL stage was smaller than the SW stage. The game certainly changed with that SW stage.....it is normal that comparisons would be drawn to it.
It may be big in size but from the photos I have seen so far, it also appears to be very minimalist. Rather than trying to fill in lots of space with props, screens and banners, the scaffolding is open and built to accomodate 400 people. Not very "spectacular" in the way Steel Wheels or Voodoo Lounge is unless you happen to be one of the lucky 400 but its a welcome departure from the B2B and Licks stadium stages.
Looks like the stones new home to me,,,As far as the stages go I liked them all ,,even the 78 tour 1,,they said it would be the biggest stage ever ,,looks like they may be correct,,this thing is awesome

I wouldn't take this "biggest ever" saying for granted, as Keith and Ronnie always say before a new tour that on the new tour they will be better than ever...well, are they really ?
This thing is gigantic!!! Man, how many people does it take to build this stage?? I'm wondering about the "on stage" seats... Will they be any good or what? It looks like as they are in the centre of the stage right?
It is big. Fenway is high up but this stage is higher. You can see it from the outside, above Fenway. And it is pretty solid. It's not a cheap 5 dollars k-mart thing for sure.
Omg, this stage is just awesome! I can't believe they put up a monster like this after the very stripped down Licks stage. I guess it's bigger than VL and Urban Jungle, but not bigger than Steel Wheels. It's almost impossible to surpass the dimensions of the SW stage. I think the screen in the middle will provide an amazing resolution.
However they just had to make a stage like this when charging up to $450 for the tickets.
Impressive stage but i could give a shit about it. Any true fan like myself would be happier with a MUCH lower ticket price to just see and hear the boys play their songs. Forget the friggin stage!
Shawn20 good question we here at copsnroobers have no answers again... we here at copsnrobbers know that Charlie has a hand in this years stage design as he has previouly..thank you copsnrobbers
I'm always thrilled by the stage design on their tours. This one looks killer IMO.
My only question is whats going to happen with the on-stage fans... I can already see Mick getting hit by falling vinyl... "hey can you sign this? *swoosh*
Every time they do a new tour, since SW that is, they have had more and more gear. That doesn't mean that the stage gets bigger and bigger. Like if you picture a soccer ball. It looks the same size as it would if you filled it up with water.

I think the Licks stadium stage was very clean, compared to the previous ones. The only props being the Jeff Koons backdrop, the moving video panels and the vertically moving lights. The B2B stage had loads more "stuff".
Yeah. You might be right. FL was kindda stripped down, so I guess it's every tour from SW, no wait, from the '81 tour to BtB, and hopefully this one too.
Yeah, looks like a real monster. Doesn't looks like a stage, really. More like a parking house. Or the Guggenheim, NYC. Hope it won't overturn when the boys are rocking.
