Happy Birthday to Keith. 37 years ago today on his 38th was the well-known Hampton Coliseum pay-per-view show which has been memorialized over the years in bootleg and official releases.
I was 28 that year and attended 14 shows on the US tour, including both Hampton shows where I met Keith and Ronnie in person at the after show party the first night. That amazing adventure is chronicled elsewhere on IORR. Warning: It's a long read. . . . and I still have a piece of the birthday cake in the freezer [

So on night one I was on the floor in front of the boom camera on Keith's side. I decided not to bring my camera and just enjoy the show which would soon be available on video from my friend Video James.
The second night I was provided tickets from the band office which put me in good seats on the side of the stage for the last show of the tour. Little did I know that I would not see them again for almost 8 years (Toad's Place 1989). Anyway, I brought my camera and here are some of my photos. Not great but worth a look.
