1982 I saw the Stones for the very first time. 5 shows. And it was so much joy!

Here are some nice pics taken by a Japanese photographer named Masahide Tomikoshi. His Instagram account is very interesting, especially for football fans.

These photos were taken at the Estadio Vicente Calderón
in Madrid, Spain on 9 July 1982

I thought it was taken in Gothenburg since Keith is wearing that silver belt. Keith did wear that belt in Turin too.

I'm amazed that you found the front cover of the newspaper Keith was reading. I tried to read the newspaper from the photo of Keith reading the paper. Great detective work!

I'm still organizing all of the 1981-1982 photos and there are some that have bad info or no info about where they were taken.

Some of the professional photographer have no information or bad information.

The answer to your question is probably on page one of this thread. You can check if you want.

It started when my friend Dan and bought many 1981 soundboard recordings (Dan calls them ghost-boards since we can't hear the audience) for $500 from Michael Getz aka "The Getzman" as he calls himself.

Dan and I wanted to make CDs of these 1981 recordings for friends (like everyone here on IORR) to download. We always hated when boots CDs would have the Stones pictured from the wrong tour or the wrong concert. We wanted to get photos from the actual concerts. We had recording from almost every 1981 concert.

To start on this journey of finding the right photos for the right concert, I started this thread. I asked for help and photos if I remember correctly.

I got some help but we still needed many more concert photos from various shows. I kept researching and sharing what I'd find on this thread. This thread became popular and I kept the title "Stones 1981-1982 Wardrobes." It was all about what the Stones wore at each show to get the right photos for the right concert CDs.

1982 was quickly included as Michael M. Getz said he had all of the 1982 shows. We never had any proof of the 1982 shows.

The Story goes that someone who was an official cameramen for the 1981 tour could get the monitor sound at their work station. He brought along cassette tapes and recorded each show. The tape would usually run-out during "Time is on My Side." That's why there's usually a cut-off during the middle of that song, to turn the tape over.

There's a few great versions of "Time is on My Side" that we just don't have.

Also, we don't have the Lee Allan on saxophone concerts from this batch.

Michael M. Getz then sold the same recordings to someone on a different fan group and turned the releases in to "Dog and Cat" releases. We were double-crossed.

"Dog and Cat" improved the recordings which I never would have attempted. I hoped Dog and Cat would download the right photos for their CDs.

As this thread evolved, the 1981 tour and details of the Tattoo Era made the tour far more interesting. Then I thought I should make a book "The Tattoo You Era" just for friends.

I started the book, a few pages done but spend time when I can sorting though photos to figure-out where they were taken, photoshopping and putting them in order. One this page of the thread we have a few revelations. The Denis O'Regan London photo isn't London (see above)+(thanks) and the Keith newspaper photo is apparently Gothenburg.

I could believe you had the actual newspaper and see the blurb about Keith at the bottom of the page!

Thanks to Bol for pointing-out the London photo of Mick isn't from London.
