Do they sell CDs? They should...

Do the Stones sell CDs at the merchandise stands at shows? If not, imagine how many Bigger Bang dics they would sell after a show...it would be number 1 throughout the tour!

Perhaps there is some sort of restriction with retail outlets but, if there isn't, it would be a great sales opportunity (and they can contact me to give me some On-Stage tickets for the tip!)

you're right. I always wondered why The Stones never sell albums after shows. A Bigger Bang would sell well after a concert. Anybody knows why they don't?

During the licks tour they sold the Abkco reissues at the concerts in Japan, but maybe that was the only time that they did that.

I'd like to see the band members selling cd's for cash from a cardboard box after the shows, like John Mayall does :0)

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

That's about the funny thing I've read on this board in a long while. Thanks for the chuckle....

Don't forget Mayall insists on signing every CD as well. He is a pretty nice guy, but he wouldn't sell me one of his harps...grrr. Buddy Richardson is a cool guy as well.

Whittington, not Richardson....

Look at what Prince did on his last tour. A CD of his current release was included in the ticket price. Because of this, his album went platinum no problem. I think the RIAA made a new stipulation in awarding gold/platinum awards because of this.
If the Stones did this, they'd know that their album would go platinum easily in the States/Canada as well as every other country that they tour..

well the Stones gave a copy of "40 licks" away with every fan club membership on the last tour....did that count towards sales?

They won't sell because it would affect chart position and retailers wouldn't like it. Imagine if HMV decided to remove all Stones products off their shelves in protest - Stones overall sales would drop.

they gave away a crumby, bad-fitting, fanclub baseball cap as well.
Worn it once.

Actually saw CDs for sale at the Amsterdam Arena but business was hardly booming.

I think almost everyone that goes to a concert already has ABB by then.
