According to many, Roger Waters was the highlight of the Coachella Festival in 2008 as the headliner.

Roger Waters Coachella

>Setlist

Granted, it's eight years later, but that's eight years later for everyone on the current bill...nobody's getting younger.
I'm sure he and his band will put on a memorable performance, and that's an understatement.

As much as I love seeing Dylan in small venues, he has the biggest question mark after his name at a festival of this size.
He's always been a bit esoteric live, but maybe a guest appearance by Mick, Keith, or Ronnie (or all three) will be help appease the masses expecting a greatest hits show.
The "Who" will put on a basic/standard show with all the warhorse crowd pleasers - McCartney and the Stones the same.
Neil Young and his band will no doubt be the absolute highlight imo.

If you have not seen Roger Waters, even if you are only a casual Floyd fan, I think you will be extremely happy with his show. I have seen both Pink Floyd and Roger Waters more than once since the early 90s, and without a doubt, Roger's show is way more of a vintage Pink Floyd show than the Waters-less Floyd shows are. Pink Floyd since 88 is basically the David Gilmour show. Roger puts on an amazing show.

I can't tell if your reply is directed to me specifically or just a general observation, but here's what I wrote last week on previous page of this thread:

"I've seen Roger Waters quite a few times - the first two being Pink Floyd The Wall in 1980, and then many other times solo.
His latest version of The Wall was spectacular visually and conceptually, but without David Gilmour and Rick Wright it was a far cry from Pink Floyd musically".

After Roger left the band, I never did see Pink Floyd nor did I like any of the albums they released as it all seemed a mockery. I heard the live shows were pretty good visually and in a tribute band sort of way, but as you say it was more or less the David Gilmour show. Granted Gilmour sang and played guitar on some of their best known tunes, but it was Roger Waters who wrote most of it all (musically and lyrically). Rogers solo bands are always up to snuff as he hires some of the best guitarists and Gilmour soundalikes, but the voice and guitar of David Gilmour is certainly missing in a big way imo. So that's the conundrum - a solo Roger show minus Gilmour, or a Pink Floyd/Gilmour show without the guy who wrote most of the tunes (Roger). I did enjoy Gilmour live 10 years ago and his most recent shows at the Hollywod Bowl and the Forum as his guitar playing is stunning, but when he played the Floyd classics that Roger wrote it seemed a bit odd to put it mildly. But then then there's the problem with Roger Waters 'singing' the last couple of tours where it has become obvious that he's been lip-synching for a big part of his shows... confused smiley

The only solution is for Gilmour and Waters to reunite Floyd which will more than likely never happen.
And even if they did, there's the problem of missing a key element of Floyd's sound which was the late Rick Wrights keyboards...

Well, Roger could surprise us all and perform some new material.
He's been threatening a new solo album for over 10 years. (Sounds familiar!)
Pigs might fly.

I'm getting cranky...are these fall shows in the US happening or not??? I am moving from NY but trying to put it off a little while in the hope of a show(s) in the Northeast US.

No way that will happen.

Roger is more likely to perform Fiddler on the Roof.

Honestly, this is getting painful given the first show in CA takes place in two months.

Where the hell are the announcements of the other dates? Can't see them only doing 3 shows!
