I agree- its airfare + hotel + food and the travel always carries a risk of postponement. I am hoping for some Saturday shows I can make personally in and out on weekends

The Voodoo Lounge tour was 120 shows over 12 months, four legs, with a couple of weeks off between legs. That was a marathon.
Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle was 115 shows over 12 months. They had breaks of six weeks and maybe 12 weeks in between legs. Even in those breaks Jagger was probably doing promotional and business stuff.

Now, yeah, they are old men and not going to do that again, but this band has always worked very hard.

So why wait for the ticket sale when a ticket can already be yours now for anything from several hundred to several thousand dollars... thumbs down

Yes Stubhub has tickets in section A, row A for ONLY $13,000 each and, of course,
plus fees....crazy.

I wonder if that indicates there will not be a tongue pit?

They don't have them, but if someone offers them 8000 for a ticket, they'll buy it later on the open market and fill the order. It's basic "selling forward."

But if you hear anything please let us know?

Sounds wonderful that Charlie is fed up being a long way from home. He wants to do concerts closer to his homeland - that is UK. smileys with beer

Maybe the lack of information regarding the tour has somthing to do with whatever
deal the Stones negotiated with Desert Trip?

^ admirable sentiments, but wrong author (Robert Greenfield) or wrong book ("Old Gods ..." ). Probably best to discuss on the appropriate thread, though.

While both on topic and off, here's an interesting look into the world of ticket sales. Straight from the horse's mouth - former CEO of Ticketmaster:

Great article thanks for sharing. So another reason why the times of big arena concerts are over for me.

I bought tickets to see The Cult back in 1992 the day of the show. I didn't care where the seats were. They were AA5 and AA6.

I laughed. WAYYYY in the back, I thought.

Wrong.

Maybe it's just because of the Desert Trip festival but it seems really odd that tickets are going on sale in two days for a Stones arena show with no other shows announced or even rumored on IORR.
