Maybe they were worn out after the South America Tour... Maybe they are inventing a new pattern : 1 show, 6 days to rest

Maybe not a tour at all. Just a chance to play three shows for huge $$.

This whole little tour makes no sense what's the name of this? WHY Are they not putting the other cities out on the schedule? What about the album?I don't get it

Patience, they are not a 100% full band anymore, they will play a handfull of shows and the new album will be released on October.
The time for big tours and 40-50 shows are over, this is Rolling Stones 2016, not 1972, 1981 or even 2005 anymore, take it or leave it.

I can't see the Stones ending the tour with just Desert Trip & Vegas. Here's my thinking

October 7th - 9th: Desert Trip
October 14th - 16th : Desert Trip
October 19th - Las Vegas
October 22nd - Las Vegas
Chicago
Boston
NYC
Philadelphia
Washington DC

This might be 50 & Counting tour again

Please not Boston or NY.

HA HA. NY IS where they belong!

They are not a band working a full year anymore, only a couple of months each year and lots of time off.

I love the stones just like everyone else here but if there just gonna do the same setlist and the same stage as last year I'm gonna wait till they release the new album and hopefully tour with that I wanna hear new stuff.

I doubt that'll happen. My take is that this tour ends at MSG and that's it for playing live shows.

100% in for 10/19. I just booked a direct, round trip flight for $180. A 24 hour surgical strike in Vegas. For various reasons this works out better than holding out for the potential Saturday show.

Hope to see you there, Woz!!

the rolling stones have never worked a full year in their lives.even the big tours were broken up into 2 or 3 months a year.add in 6-8 weeks to make a record and i still doubt you'll find the stones working more than 6 months out of any year in their existence.

they're just going back to what they did in the past, the 1969 and 1970 tours were only about 23 shows,i think zip code was about 19.they did arenas back in the day so they're playing to about twice as many now in nearly the same amount of shows.same with latina ole, only about 14 shows but 50.000 or so a night.

i'm only guessing but i'd say this will look like 1969 or no security, about 20 mostly arenas.no way the stones do only 5 shows,or so,4 or 5 shows in and they're just getting warmed up.also when promoters know the stones are gonna tour they start throwing money at them,so we're off to the races.

Some years they have not worked at all such as 2008-2012 (of course some DeLuxe albums ...) but nothing new. Current state of the band is much more active than previous years. I guess they have not been a 100% band since 1982-1983. I don't complain - as long as they provide something new every now and then.

I'm just thrilled that the Stones are still playing gigs, still playing at such a high level and really- that they're all still breathing!

Looking at the '76 tour thread, that was one crazy schedule in a short amount of time!!!

I think 1962/ 1963 through 1966 they worked their butts off. If they werent touring, they were recording.

I wonder where they would go right after Vegas? I am going to see The Monkees on 10/26 for now .
However, Vegas would make for a nice 4 day trip. Friday offers some other concerts including Elton John.

We as fans are fortunate the stones are still playing live and creating new music after all these years. Enjoy it while we can - Time waits for no one. Not to be
A downer, but we we never know what the near future may bring.

Excellent point swimtothemoon- there are several people I am making sure i see at least once a year and I try not to complain about setlists when i go

I don't think they will only play 3 gigs.

When they are on - they will play some 10-15 shows.

If it is only NA or EU & NA, time will tell.
Logistics tells, it will be NA, but let's hope for a few London shows.

What did you mean they didn't worked in 2012?...I saw them 3 times that year.

I wish they would just announce everything at once. I would love Toronto, NYC, Chicago or Vancouver, but first have to hedge my bets by spending $$ to schlep to Vegas, which holds no other interest for me. The money I'll spend just on travel there could pay for a bunch of tickets closer to home. Grumble...

Maybe time to set up individual threads for each concert for this new tour. Anyway, for anyone have American Express cards, presale for Vegas concert is 10 am on June 16th. Am wondering if there are any other presales, such as T-Mobile people.
