I suppose we will get a DVD/Bluray boxset like Four Flicks/Biggest Bang at the end of the year,
including this concert and with it a documentary, the Sticky-Fingers show at the Fonda and maybe a cut together of the stadium shows that have been filmed (at Chile, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo they had those double cameras).
Already looking forward to this release

I think you are absolutely right regarding the boxset, it seems very realistic and gives the answer of why they haven't released the DVD from Fonda.

Perfect, now they have to configure an arena size stage, perfect for the fall US arena tour!

The search I just did makes it looks like an INDOOR Arena style building - 15,000 seating capacity.

Gotten my airline ticket and my daughter and I are arriving in Havana on March 24..any assistance from anyone about tickets I would appreciate as I know we are there only one day before the concert and arriving in the evening. Thanks to all for help, BV and GlimmerGirl24. Hope to see you there...Now I need to find a place to stay as I reserved a hotel for March 19 to 22, any ideas anyone????

Unfortunately, it is not a field or a stadium, but an indoor arena built in 1957 with a capacity of only 15000 seats.

This capacity of 15000 seats is may be for sporting activities. So we can may be consider that for a concert, they could put 5000 or 10000 additional people in the space in front of the stage.

Nevertheless, a capacity for 15000, 20000 or even 25000 people in the audience is not that much.

So the questions are:
-/ how they will deal the free tickets knowing that the request should exceed the real capacity?
-/ are they going to give those free tickets by priority to Cuba citizens?

We have to keep this in mind before buying air flight tickets...

Spotted a flight from London that looks tempting.However it would get me there the morning of the show.

If there are only 15000 tickets for the show then they are going to be snapped up quick.Will it be a lottery system?First come first served?

More information is needed before I confirm a flight.

I was wondering the same thing IRIX. Not sure how many folks they could fit if they used the outdoor ballfields & put a stage in lower right corner or even upper right.

I hope they don't end up moving this to a raceway in the middle of the night on the 24th....just saying!

Now I know it's an indoor arena and hoping priority for free tix will go to Cubans, I will give it a miss.
Will watch and listen from afar in UK or Spain on show day.
If it had to been outdoor Stadium or Park I may have gone for it.

That is my guess as it is supposed to be open air.
Seems most people missed the 'open air' part of the announcement

GlimmerGirl24. I just went for it..some of the flights were 40 hours ..literally days to get there.. So flying Dublin to Paris to Havana and return..costly..but once in a lifetime. Arriving evening of the 24th and leaving on the 30th...About the tickets..I would assume that of course Cubans would get first choice, let me know what you think. I am fairly certain some folks who receive free tickets might rather sell them off... And I imagine the seating/standing will be all as one!...It should be very interesting..Thanks again..you have been very helpful..

It is open air. The big place is part of the sports center of Havana and there will most likely be no or very few VIP tickets sold as everyone can stand wherever he or she wants like Copacabana 2006. The place can hold up to 100,000 people. It will be huge.
