We were at the venue at 3pm today. I'd like to agree with MRAmandaJones that there's not space for half a million. A few hundred thousand - yes.

The catwalk is rather short for a venue this size. There is now a large separated area (kind of Golden Circle) in the front. The barriers for that go all around the mixing desk tent.



Sound and light seem to be in one tent now in the middle of the field.



There's a sophisticated looking camera on Ronnie's side of the "Golden Circle".



Normal front area with wide gap to the stage. The stage itself is surprisingly low.



My advice: come early. It's difficult to predict how many people want to attend this thing. First come first served. Enjoy!

...forgot to add, there were 6 (six) toilets so far! 4 on Ronnie's, 2 on Keith's side. Will be interesting to know when and where they will find some more. Maybe toilets of the baseball stadium can be used (?). That would be Keith's side.

Wow major league bummer - have been gone for a couple of weeks and before I left the Stones were only playing at a 30,000 seat place - now a tonne of seats. Had I know I would have been in Cuba this evening anticipating the show. Such is f'ing life!

timeanddate.com for Havana From what the site shows, Cuba does go on daylight savings time and is currently the same time as US EDT. Assuming that the site is accurate, that is.

My Friday is going to be a mess:
8:30 Stones Start
9:30 My favorite college basketball team starts their Sweet 16 game in the NCAA tournament
10:00 MY BAND starts our show that I was/am considering "Scoping".
If the club has public Wi-Fi that I can access, I may be able to "multi-task" backstage before we go on.

Regardless of my chaotic situation, I hope that everyone in Cuba & worldwide have a wonderful evening tomorrow!

I'm pretty sure that was a welcome by the British Ambassador to Cuba on the tarmac.

Usually only Royalty or Presidents get that sort of welcome.

Stones weren't the first to play in Eastern Europe, Balkan, Latin America, Asia, or Israel.
