A nice gesture indeed. I would like to see more participation on iorr from South American fans, perhaps the language difference is one reason we don't see more.

I want to make it possible for fans in Latin America to write reports from the shows in their own language. That way we will get better reports, more emotions, more details. I use professional translators from South America to translate from/to Spanish and Portugese.

I am unable to verify the quality of the translations, so I hope you will give me comments here. Both the Spanish and the Portugese pages are now online. Also, if you see obvious technical text errors please let me know. Parts of the contents is template controlled, it should be easy to update the templates if there is an error, especially before the tour start in Chile.

Still I don't know if it is best practice to say Los Rolling Stones (Spanish) and Dos Rolling Stones (Portugese). I will select the most communly used way to name The Rolling Stones locally, advices are welcome!

In portuguese you can use "Os Rolling Stones em Português by IORR".

Great Idea Bjornulf! Not all fans can read/write in English!

The Spanish translation is quite good! Los Rolling Stones is perfect, or Los Stones!

Excellent point. If you have to translate that part you obviously have the wrong audience. But I think Bjornulfs intentions to understand what they are most commonly referred to in SA are good.

Los Rodante Piedras is the full spanish translation. Actually rolls off the tongue quite nicely.

If you did care to see the new Spanish and Portugese IORR pages then you would see that names of people like Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and so are preserved in the the translations. Of course.

What I was asking about was the local naming standard of the band. As fas as I can see, from all published sites in Portugal and Brazil, and in Spanish spoken countries, this is the standard:

You have heard it before: "Vamos Los Stones, Los Stones, vamos Los Stones"...well you will even hear we wrongly pronounce "Los Estons"!! He, he, he!

The right translation would be "Los Cantorodados" and the literally translation "Los Piedras Rodantes".

Absolutely correct!

Plus, in Spanish "dos Rolling Stones" means "two Rolling Stones". Translating "the tour of the Rolling Stones" for Spanish it can be read: "la tour de los Rolling Stones".
