Can one of our fine members from Uruguay speak about a trip from Montevideo to San Paulo, please?

For example, flying? driving? Time? Expense? Hosing in San Paulo?

Sincere good Stones' karma to anyone who might help!

I'm not from Uruguay but I think I can help you with this.

Unless you're willing to spend 24 hours on the road (by car) or 30 hours (by bus), traveling by plane is the best option for you. There's a lot of options for you, with trips that last 2h30 up to 28 hours due to the connections.

On the other way, the bus ticket from Montevideo to São Paulo will cost you around US$ 120.00, while the cheapest plane tickets are now costing around US$ 490.00.

My opinion is that its too far away to go by bus .Definitively best option: PLANE.
Option B: bus from Montevideo to Porto Alegre and plane from there to Sao Paulo. Internal flight, must be cheaper. Montevideo - P. Alegre by bus is 12 hoursand costs aprox U$S 80.-

There are direct flights every day. Bus to P. Alegre: wed 17/2 at 9 pm

Hi Varilla, are there any major football matches taking place in the city that week?Cheers!

No IMPORTANT match, but on the weekend of 13 - 14 there will be matches of the local championship for sure. Good program. Do not miss Peñarol if you are here.

Peñarol will be playing on 18/2 for Copa Libertadores de America but as a visitant in Peru

Hi LuvGT! Nice to meet you. I will go to the first show in Sao Paulo (Guarulhos) by plane, GOL Airlines, direct flight from Montevideo. It takes 2:45 hrs. I paid 234 dollars and it's a good price, i can asure you. Another option is by bus, TTL or EGA lines but it's very long trip, almost 36 hrs. I believe this is no a good choice unless you are plenty of time. You can see details in the respective web sites.

www.voelgol.com.br
www.ttl.com.uy
www.ega.com.uy

I will travel alone but in SP I will stay at my cousin's house, very well located not so far from the stadium. I have uruguaians friends there who will go to the show too.
Let me know if can help you.

My best
Alejandro

LuvGT, just read the posts of Cristiano and Varilla and yes, go to POA by bus (same bus lines i wrote before) and then a flight to SP is also a good choice but I recomend you to look asap for a direct flight first.

Hi, everybody! Yesterday i met with a friend who is in the production team who works in bringing the Stones to Uruguay. He says that they are working in an incredible atmosphere of adrenaline as the show is getting near, with tons of work to do, etc. Of course, he passed that adrenaline to me....

He told me they are not allowed to talk about the details, etc, but he left me with some tips; new stage, tons and tons of equipment directly from Argentina, 12 full trucks, most probably no sound check by the band themselves. A lot of security,

I invited them (the producers) and through them to all the Stones organization, relations of the band, anybody related to the tour, etc. to our IORR party.

Let´s see if anyone of them can make it.

See you on monday 15!!!

Hi Joker! It's a good choice. Behind the central bus station. Not beautiful but fine. I know this hotel. An easy walk to the stadium. Ask for a high floor to avoid some bus noise.
Officialy I really don't know where's the party. Woodstock bar or another? And what about the post party?

See you.
Cheers
Alejandro

Its ok Joker,like Alejandro said.

The party nwill be in WOODSTOCK MUSIC BAR in Puente Carrasco, in front of Arroyo Carrasco, opesite the seaside. Very easy to get there. 15/20 minutes from Pocitos/Punta Carretas/ 3 cruces. USS 7- 10 by cab from these areas where most of you will be staying. Less than a dollar by bus. You must see the signs in the bus : Puente Carrasco. The place is 50 metres from Puente Carrasco by the sea.

To get back is the same. But i will have my car and other friends cars so we can give a lift to a lot of you.
You can also share cabs.

If i could have a list of how many of you are coming, i could organize it a little more.

Meeting hour in Woodstock: 20.30

Next week i will put more info.

PRE PARTY: Monday 15/2 20.30 hrs

WOODSTOCK MUSIC BAR . Lavalleja 1081 (also Vaimaca Peru) Puente Carrasco, in front of Parque Lavalleja and the sea side. Very nice place

Free entrance. You only pay what you drink or eat. Not expensive at all

They are waiting for IORR people. ITs a party for US

My band will be playing some blues and some Stones music. Everyone in IORR who plays or sings something is welcome to the stage. Its a friends meeting . Don´t forget is a Monday.

Fabio Silvera, Rocandosis from IORR, will be playing and singing with us. GREAT artist, don´t miss him. We might have some surprise but i won´t say any more.

We can easily organize an asado with meat and vegetables for the 17 th if its worth it

It's great to know that we already have a pre-party organized. I'll be there with some friends from Brazil that are going to Uruguay. smileys with beer

I'd be more than glad to join the asado but I'm coming back home in the morning, so I'll only be at the pre-party.
