Lisa Fischer sang the Star Spangled Banner prior to the New York Jets-New York Giants game Sunday at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. She sang it relatively slowly for dramatic effect and nailed every note. In her introduction, the public address announcer said that she was going to be making her debut at the Blue Note next month.

I'm not quite sure debut is a correct description in Lisa's case but starting in January she does indeed have an entire week of shows at The Blue Note, 2 shows a night for 7 days. Pretty demanding schedule for a singer, probably make her dream of how easy she had it when she was singing backup for the Stones. Hope her voice holds out.

Perhaps some of our New York iorr members will attend one of the shows and give us a report.
