OT . Status Quo

Went to Birmingham (Barclaycard Arena) to see The Quo last night, have always liked them and saw them in the mid seventies. It was my friends birthday so we decided a couple of weeks ago to treat ourselves, only £48 each. Wow what a show, they rocked for 2 hours plus, so much power, every song although sounded like typical Quo they all sounded different.

3 chord wonders? yep but fantastic show and these guys are not getting any younger well at least Francis and Rick, the new bass player who has been with them for a good 20 years was great.

Would see them again def, couldn't help wishing it was The Stones as I always do at a concert, but I was dancing with everyone and loved every min, they finished with Bye Bye Johnny. I recommend anyone thinking of going just go you won't be disappointed!

Oh, in all the excitement forgot to say Wilco Johnson was playing support. It was good to see him still playing after all he has been through

You gotta love them. Rock 'n Roll is about having fun, as someone said.

If you dig a little deeper into their catalogue you'll find both more more complex rock, blues and psychedelia.

Great band!

Very underrated musicians and songwriters. They made some genuinely good albums in the 70s, and the last 10 years or so have been making good ones again. They also diluted their power and made some awful records in the 80s and 90s - an almost 20 year slump that produced numerous sub par pop albums.

Their legend and the quality music comes from the 70s work, and live they are amazing!

Status Quo are truly one of the ultimate best live bands in the world. I saw them 4x. And in the 'Frantic Four' lineup, they are absolute fantastic!!!

always admired thier good honest rock and roll but felt they lacked depth, so never really got into them but last year discovered on youtube a 1968 performance on top of the pops of pictures of matchstick men which was a classic performance.

Check out their first five albums. Album number 5 (Piledriver) is from 1972. Pictures Of Matchstick Men is on their debut album.
